It’s easier to plant without protection while the bees are still inside their hives, so I took advantage of today’s brisk morning temps to add native perennials to the semi-shade and woodland edges area.

Want to know a very easy way to help the bees? If you’re not going to be using or walking across your patio on a warm/sunny day, simply turn on your water faucet for a little bit to form some mini pools on your patio for the bees to stop and grab a quick sip. #thirsty #honeybees

@michaeljsayles @JenCarfagno In the fall, the bees are so focused on preparing their hive for winter that get agitated easier. Plus, their natural food sources (flowers) are depleted so, just like me, they get grumpier when they’re hungry.
