I know that doesn't actually answer your question, so to properly answer your question, recycling centers by catalytic converters. They disassemble the part, extract the valuable materials, and then legally resell them to manufacturers.

This is the type of overthinking about pop culture that I live for. At the rate zombies die in zombie Media, the apocalypse should genuinely be over in a year or less. The only other explanation would be for zombies to be reproducing, which honestly I think would be way scarier.
