@SaturdayinHV Correct. I’ve had the privilege of meeting Cael and other successful coaches who developed skills at Iowa State, which could be called a cradle of coaches, a phrase coined in 1959 by another person I’ve met, Bob Kurz, who was referring to Miami of Ohio.

@adamtirapelle Single class is the right way to go for H.S. wrestling. In Wisconsin, post-1980, divisions diluted the state tournament. After each weight in finals, 24 places now are awarded. Kills the momentum. California wrestling is tough and single-class is part of it.

@TheCradleZone ND had Fran McCann, a great wrestler and coach, but they dropped the program in 1993 and kept McCann as a P.E. instructor. The Irish could build a great program with kids out of the Chicago Catholic League and they would attract other top student-athletes.
