To harness the agricultural value chain for food security, increased export, job creation, and wealth generation as outlined in the MORE Agenda, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori today disbursed agricultural inputs to over 6,000 direct beneficiaries of FADAMA (Food Security) under the Delta Community Action for Resilience and Economic Stimulus (D-CARES) program at the Dome Event Center, Asaba.
In a major boost for the agricultural sector, the Governor also announced the approval of a One Billion Naira counterpart fund in collaboration with the African Union Development Agency and New Partnership for Africa Development (AUDA-NEPAD). This initiative is set to empower more than 2,000 smallholder farmers with increased food production, livestock, and aquaculture resources.
Governor Oborevwori reaffirmed his commitment to not only infrastructure and empowerment programs but also to agriculture, ensuring that Delta’s farmers are equipped with the essential resources needed to enhance productivity and contribute to the state’s economic growth.
