Some of you might remember the fundraising I did about this time last year to buy fans, radios, and an overnight bed my ward. Today, those fans have made some patients more comfortable in this hellish heat in a ward where there are no windows in some of its bays. Thank you again to those who donated. May it come back to you tenfolds. 💙
The resignations of the Defence Secretary and Armed Forces Minister confirm what I've being saying since last year, including at the London Defence Conference in April.
We need to get serious. We need to rearm. The @Conservatives will cut welfare spending to fund our military.
“The defence of our nation is the first duty of government.”
It is. Your predecessor resigned yesterday because Keir Starmer wouldn’t fund it properly.
We need to cut welfare to pay for defence.
John Healey, the former Defence Secretary, has acted honourably by resigning.
Keir Starmer is too weak to cut welfare and fund defence - as I told him yesterday at PMQs.
Only the Conservatives have a plan to put our national security first.
@KEdge23@JohnHealey_MP@KemiBadenoch Rebuild our armed forces. our welfare state was won by the Brave Men and Women that defended and secured the freedoms we have today, during those dark years. It was always supposed to be a safety net, not a way of life. Now the abused system risks everything
@ScouseDev@WarMonitor3 Drill simulating British military and other NATO forces taking over a metro station, or other civilian underground facility somewhere in one of the Baltic States.
Given the ridiculous volume of Prime Ministers that Britain’s endured in recent years, I think it should now be law that if a PM quits or is forced out during his/her term, it automatically triggers a new general election. That might concentrate their minds to do a better job.
As Labour self-implode, Kemi Badenoch gets ever more confident and impressive. Suspect the polls will start to reflect this as Reform come under more intense scrutiny.
@thomsonchris@WarMonitor3 Pre-1707: empire mostly English, though Scots were already active abroad (soldiers, traders, Darien failed imperial attempt).
1707 Union driven largely by Scottish elites after financial collapse creates the “British” Empire.
@TiffanyxFong The guy says “Henry” when asked his name, then when the doctor asks “Age?” his brain glitches and he thinks he’s meant to spell it, so he goes “E-N-R-Y.” And he even messes that up, must have had to have been there!!!…
