What time do you call this!?
Still waiting, still planning, still doing it. We've been told to 'not hold our breath' for sign off so Sean's going back to teach just a little bit longer, so it will be later this year (hopefully!). For now we can often be found @MagnetFreehouse π
@cthuluhulus @Soo_Jane@Joanne_Lake@SierraNevada Can't wait to be open, we moved to the Grove in 2019 and love it & all the independents businesses here.
See you at the bar!!
We're no closer than we were 6 months ago, and obv we're not rushing to get open now anytime soon. We have had to shift our focus on ourselves a little to try and work that out, but we do still plan to open!
We're buzzing to see some of favourite places and pals adapt & making plans to open. All the best to everyone making it work, and big love to those that need to wait π there's no set way to operate, it's what feels right for the business. Be kind x
After the way Tim Martin has treated his staff we will never supply Wetherspoons again, a move which, given the prices they pay suppliers for beer, will actually make us over seventy five thousand pounds in pure profit.
@BeerFinderGen Still a complete and utter nightmare. We are entirely in the dark from the estate agents and build team. Brick walls everywhere π
But we persevere! Thanks pal π
Honestly we'd be nowhere without the pals we've made. They've helped us build, paint, offered advice, shown support & picked us up when we were (and are!) down. The beer community has been instrumental in us carrying on, we're so grateful to our friends π #LetsBeerPositive
This weekβs #LetsBeerPositive wants you to share friendships youβve made within beer.
They could be pals you worked with behind a bar, friends made at a tap takeover or hanging out at your local pub or tap room, or friendly Twitter folks.

@Foresterfloorco Hi! We got the paint to be replaced but still need to work out how to get this paint off the floor and then the new one down correctly. Any advice is hugely appreciated! Sean
FLOOR ADVICE NEEDED! In short, company gave us 2 batches of epoxy for the floor. To save Β£400 we opted DIY. The 2 batches are different colours. Manufacturer accepts fault. Company we bought through will replace epoxy but not remove the fault epoxy paint. Cannot simply paint over
Podcast LXIII is online.
El of @R2BCBeerCafe tells us about the past 3 years owning the bar, being independent, Chipsticks & plenty more.

From a consumer rights point of view I don't know where we stand. This has pretty much broken Sean as we are really down on luck at the minute. If anyone had any insight, expertise or a mate who can help please let us know.
The company have been fine up to now but have found faults in the application in that you should paint epoxy on within 36 hrs and we left it a couple of weeks for the second side (we had no instructions that mention 36hrd) but the fault is with the paint, not the application...
@Benoit_Tgt @cloudwaterbrew @R2BCBeerCafe It was a day to speak freely, talk though ideas and compare notes. Hopefully ideas come to fruition & I do know @beernomicon will be talking to an indie retailer who was in attendance v shortly! π
We're delighted & v thankful @cloudwaterbrew sales team for hosting an insightful, rewarding day for indie retailers today. There with @R2BCBeerCafe we spoke about supermarkets, mental health, responsibilities, FOMO, Untappd, going cashless, events & more #ShopLocal#indie
