Distance is a skill.
Rolling the ball back will make distance more important.
Andy, Geoff, no laying up, and all the rest of the rollback crowd… I’d be happy to debate you on this topic anytime and on any platform you want.
You would have to prove that their swing speeds differ greatly in order to prove that the ball is going farther now. Otherwise all we’re arguing about is training/fitness and the forgiveness of the clubface
Next time you're having a golf distance debate with a friend, tell them this...
• In 2025, Padraig Harrington was 53 years old and had an average driving distance of 309 yards.
• In 2016, Brooks Koepka was 26 years old and had an average driving distance was 303 yards.
Now listen. I’m not going to complain AT ALL about having the opportunity to listen to Lazer Jameis (great clip btw)
But why is this being so blown up? Are we that dry on the NFL landscape? Dart and Carter are doing what EVERYONE should be doing? They’re two men who have a disagreement on something, and they still show up and respect each other, because isn’t that what we should all do in life? Just because we disagree with someone about something doesn’t make them a villain in a story. Perhaps we should all find some common ground like these young men 🤝
Now please blast me with MHJ optimism, Schefty
I, for one, cannot believe that Lee Westwood—a man who sits on Twitter all day looking to pick fights over every perceived slight not only to himself but to others (simp!)—did not have the intestinal fortitude to ever win a major championship.
Meanwhile, he had to sit and watch (we all know he was glued just like all the other LIV weirdos who say they aren't) as a fellow countryman and relative unknown to the casual golf fan, Aaron Rai, just put his head down and went to work at Aronimink on Sunday, achieving something he'll never achieve despite not having anywhere near the talent Westwood possessed in his prime.
Just an unbelievably tough scene.
If only all of us could run a media company co-signed by the PGA TOUR brass, which gives us access unlike anyone else. Then we could all offer unbiased and not at all underhanded takes about golf while also subtly pushing an agenda without bold proclamations.
The funniest discourse ever is hearing complaints about who is at the top of the leaderboard from the same group of people that moan about how LIV doesn’t have real competition because the fields aren’t deep
I would use performative to describe the attitude of the article. Not the reaction to it. The article basically calls Rahm a liar, a failure, and a jerk.
The thin-skinned performative anger is why people detest the LIV whiners so much. Joel's piece was incredibly fair, a recap of events followed by a measured opinion, which is *his job.* The screenshots below are as tough as he got. Believe me, it could be worse. Calling Joel a "prick" for this is about as petty as it gets. They're so mired in their own grievance-y propaganda that they can't handle someone with a different opinion. Grotesque way to behave imo.
Chad Mumm is the co-founder and president of Pro Shop Holdings, a media company that the PGA Tour own a substantial minority stake in and is registered and operated out of PGA Tour BLVD in Ponte Vedra.
PSH operates, controls or produces various media outlets and shows, including Dan on Golf - hosted by Dan Rapaport, Skratch, and Netflix shows like Full Swing and Happy Gilmore 2. PSH also offers incentives to NUCLR Golf to share their articles and shows on X which I don’t believe has ever been publicly disclosed.
Chad, and many other US media outlets, have regularly tried to discredit me because I am just a tradesman from the UK who is obsessed with golf and has managed to build a large platform without the need to financially grift like they do. Despite the many, many offers, I’ve never sold out.
People like Chad are a big reason why there is so much misinformation in the golf space and frankly, I’m embarrassed for them.
Enjoy the final round of the PGA Championship, Chad.

@thedaltonallen@NUCLRGOLF I hate when the better golfers are approaching the green and they have to put the pin in a harder spot real quick and then have to switch it back once they’re clear so other guys can play the different pin location you fucking dumbass.
🚨🗣️⛳️ #NEW — Rory McIlroy spoke on the course setup, walking back prior comments a bit: “If I'm reflecting on the last three days I think there's been a really good balance of tough pins and then pins that you can get at a little bit more”
