Admission authorities are STILL not applyng the correct test, still not giving reasons why a Y1 start would be in a child's best interests, other than such like 'chronological year group would be best' or 'being educated out of the cohort could be detrimental in the future'.
So many #summerborn stories like this. Often the child has to miss playtime to 'catch-up' too.
The child below isn't even compulsory school age yet, regardless of whether phonics is the best reading approach for him as an individual learner.

@MrsRBurnell @WalkerWorcester @nadine Surely, this should be specifically mentioned in the 'Schools Bill' and is the perfect 'legislative opportunity' that the DfE constantly refers to as being needed, especially given that ministers have for the last 7 years stated that they are "committed to legislating" 2/2
@MrsRBurnell @WalkerWorcester @nadine On 31 March 2022 Robin Walker stated "Any change allowing the parents of summer born children the automatic right to delay their child’s entry to reception, and for the child to remain with that cohort throughout their education, would require primary legislation." 1/2
@cottagescom Can someone please help me change the date of booking. I have called the helpline as soon as I realised the booking has the wrong Saturday. Don't want this holiday to go to waste.
The Tories' new NHS Bill is an attempt to give private companies a greater foothold in the NHS and a greater say on how our money is spent.
Proud to sign @ZarahSultana's reasoned amendment to protect the NHS by throwing out this Corporate Takeover Bill today.
Today MPs vote on the Tories' new NHS Bill.
It puts private companies on health boards, opens the floodgates to more cronyism & incentivises cuts & closures.
It's an NHS Corporate Takeover Bill & a recipe for more privatisation. My amendment rejecting this attack on our NHS:
