It's not his problem that there's no one to cover the other 14 hours. Maybe some of the nurses would have who are sitting around filling their nails would have covered for him.

@charnley_dave You could also set up a tripwire or two, like gamekeepers use. They fire a blank shotgun cartridge. It'll scare them half to death and notify you if you're in earshot.

@charnley_dave Can you hide one of those wildlife cameras in a bush where it won't be seen? Then strap the hives to a heavy paving slab with ratchet luggage straps so they'll be very difficult to turn over. You might get some pictures to put on social media to identify the culprits.
