Politician objects to operations twice. Then tries to pretend to be about legislation and commerce. Why would you bother setting up technology
In Ireland?
Our DMR Roads Policing Unit spotted this car while they were on their regular patrols in Dublin City.
The car was impounded after we identified that the driver had failed to pay import duties for a significant time after bringing the car into the country.
Annual metro ridership (in millions) for cities comparable to Dublin:
🇧🇪 Brussels: 130
🇳🇱 Amsterdam: 110
🇳🇴 Oslo: 120
🇩🇰 Copenhagen 120
It is astonishing that Dublin still lacks a metro system, but what's even more insane is that we're only planning on building ONE line.
I spoke with @OliviaKellyIT to share an update on the Dublin City Centre Transport Plan. Early signs are promising for @dublinbusnews and our customers. We are actively monitoring the impact across the city and providing updates to both the NTA and DCC.

They say every child has a dream, to pursue the dream is in every child hand’s to make it a reality.
I had the dream of becoming an Olympic Champion. I put the work in everyday and I’m so happy to say that I have accomplished my childhood dream.
However behind every child you have a support team of friends, family, coaches, teammates who encourage and help make your dream a reality.
So I would firstly like to thank my parents who sacrificed their own lives to make my dream a reality. My best friends and teammates who supported and pushed me to achieve my dream. My coaches, especially Andi Manley you created the journey and allowed me to push myself until I had achieved my dream.
Now Paris 2024 is over and I head back to Ireland I can finally reflect and thank everyone for the support across the past weeks and I’m happy to say I’m bringing a Gold and Bronze home 🥇🥉
Sláinte mo chairde 💚
We need real ambition for Dublin and the Liffey.
We can't stop at a few bus gates.
The Liffey should be a source of health and wellbeing for all Dubliners, complete with well functioning, sustainable transport solutions, NOT a congested, car-centric mess.

If the state backs down on the Dublin transport plan, we can forget about any positive urban transport initiative for decades.
Either we are serious about the Dublin or not.
This is the acid test.

If we can't have nice things in Dublin because Noel Smyth and his car park pals threaten legal action, the Council should consider counter-suing the car parks for the poor air quality from the traffic they generate.
I'll be outside City Hall on Dame Street, 5:30 today.
In today’s Sunday @Independent_ie, I reaffirm my and @dublinbusnews support for the Dublin City Centre Transport Plan. We must prioritise the collective good over individual comfort and ensure that progress for the city is not dictated by convenience.

"Mr Shakespeare said he would take the councillors views on board."
It really is mad that such an important plan for Dublin is going to come down to the whims of an unelected civil servant and not the democratically elected council.
In terms of enacting policy and making long term, hard to reverse changes to his country, by some distance the most successful Irish politician of his generation.
