God is enough

We are nearing the end of a long journey.

I watched my father leave this world, and I watched my children grow into adults and begin journeys of their own. Along the way, I discovered the meaning of true friendship and also met those who fed upon the weakness and misfortune of others.

I saw people who stood like solid rock against every storm, and others who withdrew into their shells at the first sign of hardship. I witnessed promises dissolve, loyalties change, doors close, and familiar faces become strangers.

Everything changed: people, places, dreams, and even the person I once believed myself to be.

Yet through every loss, every disappointment, and every silent victory, God remained within my heart steady when the world was uncertain, present when everyone else had gone.

And in the end, I understood that this was enough.
