A student of my teacher friend was trapped at Poly U. My friend was worried sick, and when her student was finally home safe, she called him. First thing he said was, "Can I still hand in my assignment?" After all they're just children, and their world one of childlike innocence.
"I am sorry for not being able to fight alongside you anymore. My fellow protesters must have gone so much further... I hope none of them would have to bear this amount of remorse and shame." A protester fled to Taiwan & wrote home this letter.

The young protesters have only umbrellas and cardboard shields to protect them against teargas & bullets. Six months back they would have been traumatized; now they have pre-written “suicide notes”. With no regrets, they cherish this city more than their lives.

I asked the old lady next to me, "do you need a mask?"
‘I’m so old already. I’m not worried about being filmed and getting exposed online. So,
‘Hongkongers, add oil!’ Every time we chanted ‘add oil’, her hand held on to mine a bit tighter.

The saddest wifi password ever! Guess what it is? From left to right -
721 - Civilians attacked by thugs in Yuen Long MTR; 831 - Civilians beaten indiscriminately by police inside a Prince Edward MTR train; 101 - police fired a live bullet in close range at an unarmed 18 y-o.
During a 1/12 rally, an old ice-cream hawker was sprayed with teargas. After a brief rinse-off, he returned for a popsicle to "neutralize the chemicals". Is HK safe to live? The gov't didn't disclose the teargas ingredients so we can only pin our hopes on popsicles & blind faith.
Oct 30: Poly U students wore Vendetta masks in protest.
Nov 30: Poly U after the clashes and 13 days of police lock down.
We did not choose history. History chose us.

Thanks @bald_negro: Selfie video of 15-y-o HK student and protester Chan Yin-lam whose body was later found floating naked in the sea. Police said the case was a suicide and not suspicious – a conclusion questioned by many due to the circumstances of the body’s discovery.
"How can we lie to students? Teachers should be the role model. If we skirt the issue with ‘I don’t know’, we are betraying their trust and not fulfilling our duy.” Mr. Cheung, a teacher, believes that everyone has the right to know including students: https://t.co/8tC0VgXhKk
Throughout the movement, publicity work has been lively and creative; a bus terminal has been transformed into a Lennon Wall as well as a large-scale “exhibition” of publicity artwork.

Li-Ka Shing announced in Oct his foundation would give US$127.5 million to support embattled small/medium businesses. A restaurant received an aid of US$7,700 & decided to donate all to "Protect the Children", a group of volunteers that mediate between police and civilians.
"When a protester is brutally attacked by the police, she feels as if her own daughter is attacked; when government supporters slander female protesters, she feels as if her own daughter is slandered. “I can’t stop my daughter from taking to the street; I can only support her.”
Amazingly, within a short 45 minutes of the news, many HKers, including priests, funeral service agents and the newly elected district counselors, have come forward to offer help.
It goes to show there are many with a conscience who are always willing to offer a helping hand!
"Run kid run!"
Resistance has become the norm in our daily lives. Citizens old and young will need to quickly build up their resilience against teargas that appears out of nowhere and without any reason.

“If we lose, I'll commit suicide. HK will be like Uighur Xinjiang, whose people are detained in reeducation camps and injected drugs in order to retard their mental ability. I cannot accept HK turning into a place like that.”
