Earliest dates pushed to 2027.

Thousands stranded.

It was never about economics. It was always about race.

If H-1B workers were coming from Norway, they'd be called "the backbone of America."

A lot of people ask: "Why are there so many Indians on H-1B?"

Here's the answer nobody talks about.

It's not because Indians love being on temporary visas. It's because the Green Card system won't let them leave the temp visa program.

India gets the same quota as Iceland.

The result:

India: 134+ year wait (EB-2)
Pakistan: < 2 years
Somalia: < 2 years

Same job. Same employer. Same skills.
Different birthplace = different lifetime.

Indians aren't "stuck" on H-1B by choice. They're trapped by a system that punishes demand from one country while handing Green Cards freely to others.

400,000+ Indian applicants will die before they ever receive a Green Card.

PERM green card processing time just hit 512 days.

That’s ~17 months just for the Department of Labor to review a filing.

Before COVID it was 4–6 months.

And that’s after:

• Prevailing wage (4–6 months)
• Recruitment process (2–3 months)

Total time before USCIS even sees the case?

2+ years.

The backlog is becoming structural.
