🚨Hiring absolutely crushed it in May, blowing past expectations with a massive surge even as inflation keeps climbing because of the Iran War.💪

The U.S. economy added 172,000 jobs last month, according to the latest report. That’s a solid step up from the 115,000 added in April.

Bottom line: the labor market is still showing serious strength and resilience. Despite higher costs hitting businesses and consumers, hiring just keeps chugging along.

The unemployment rate stayed put at 4.3%, which is still very low by historical standards.

Big standout? Leisure and hospitality exploded with +70,000 jobs, way above their usual monthly average of just 14,000. We also saw healthy gains in healthcare and local government.
