The 2024 Nobel laureate in Medicine, Viktor Ambros, has Belarusian roots. The scientist’s father, Longin Bogdan Ambros, was born in the Belarusian village of Dardishki in October 1924.

In some sources, Dardishki is mentioned as a Polish village because the area of Western Belarus was part of Poland during the interwar period.
