FINALLY Liberals stopped blocking MPs from presenting new bills.
So, today, I tabled Bill C-290, combating theft of property of religious and cultural significance.
Value is not measured only in dollars and cents. Serious measures are required to prevent the targeted theft of property of religious and cultural importance.
This bill matters to faith communities, museums, Indigenous nations, and all peoples who pass traditions on through culturally significant property.
Mark Carney is seizing a costly Liberal majority that voters denied him, and doing so through backroom deals.
In January, MP Gladu said that floor crossers should face voters in a byelection to give voters the final say. I could not agree more.
She should do so. The people in her community voted for our Conservative vision of a Canada that is affordable, safe, and strong at home, not for the costly Liberal government she has now joined.
She should honour her word and let voters decide.
@ArpanKhanna Looking forward to the debate in Parliament. Thank you, Arpan Khanna, for your leadership on this important issue. Wishing this bill success so we can help restore safer streets for communities across Canada. 🇨🇦
After national consultation and support from law enforcement, Crown prosecutors, victim advocacy groups and their families, legal experts, social workers, and both provincial and local leaders, I introduced my Private Member’s Bill C-242, the Jail Not Bail Act, to fix Canada’s broken bail system.
If implemented, the Act will:
✅ Repeal and replace the Liberal “Principle of Restraint.” Instead of prioritizing release at the earliest opportunity on the least restrictive conditions, the Act would direct courts to make public protection and safety the primary consideration in bail decisions.
✅ Introduce a new “Major Offences” category with reverse onus bail conditions for serious crimes, including firearm offences, sexual offences, kidnapping, human trafficking, home invasion, robbery, extortion, arson, assault, and other violent crimes.
✅ Strengthen bail laws by requiring judges to consider an accused person’s full criminal history before granting bail.
✅ Prohibit bail for individuals charged with a major offence if they were previously convicted of a major offence within the past 10 years while already on bail.
✅Tighten the risk assessment standard used in bail decisions by changing the threshold from “substantial likelihood” to “reasonably foreseeable.”
✅ Prevent individuals with a criminal record from acting as a bail surety and require stricter enforcement of bail conditions.
✅ Require judges to enforce bail conditions on guarantors to ensure greater accountability.
✅ Require non-residents to surrender their passports as a condition of bail.
✅ Introduce automatic bail revocation for individuals convicted of serious offences while they are awaiting sentencing.
✅ Prevent the release of individuals charged with major offences by a peace officer following arrest. Bail decisions in these cases must be made by a judge or justice of the peace.
✅ Require the Minister to prepare an annual report on the state of the bail system, to be tabled in each House of Parliament within the first 15 sitting days after January 1 each year.
My bill will be debated and voted on next week in Parliament. Let’s restore safe streets!

The promise is simple.
Work hard. Get a good job. Live in a home you can afford, on a safe street, protected by strong borders, united under a proud flag.
We will honour that promise and restore the affordable, hope-filled Canada that every generation before us had: https://t.co/RfC1P2clsF
Productive meetings today with the White House and State Department. The President asked me to pass along a message: “Tell the Canadians I love them.” I'll have much more to say later. More meetings with Senators, GM, and others this week.
Conservatives have spoken — loudly and clearly.
Pierre Poilievre has our confidence, our support, and our momentum.
Onward. 🇨🇦
Congratulations @PierrePoilievre#CommonSense#CanadaFirst#CPC
Touched down in Calgary! ✈️
Heading to the Conservative Party of Canada National Convention to stand with Pierre Poilievre.
Despite the Liberal media noise, he remains the only leader offering real hope for Canadians — a leader with vision, courage, and common sense.
Thank you @jamiljivani for highlighting this important issue. Our community deeply appreciates the support and solidarity during this difficult time. We remain hopeful for justice and the recovery of the sacred items.

A sacred relic and tabernacle keys were stolen. The criminal should be brought to justice for this act of anti-Christian bigotry.

These fundamental Canadian values immortalized by John Diefenbaker are under threat as the Liberal government seeks to criminalize Bible verses and other religious texts through Bill C-9.
