My question:
How can "mutual respect" work if one party's doctrine obliges the other to hell, and their practice sends them to the grave?

Fatal Theological Asymmetry
The Church teaches: "Love your enemies" (Matthew 5:44).
Their doctrine teaches: Q 9:29 "Fight the People of the Book," Q 9:111 "Kill or be killed."

Nostra Aetate No. 3 assumes a symmetry of good intentions. The reality is: We open the door to dialogue, they open Q 9:5 to kill us.
This is not dialogue. This is a unilateral ceasefire.

The Cost of "At All Costs" Already Paid

From Naive to Realistic
We ask Your Holiness to revise Nostra Aetate No. 3 with three points:

1. Acknowledge the Exclusivist Doctrine:

Officially acknowledge that Q 3:85 + narrated by Muslim 153 = total rejection of the salvation of non-Muslims. Stop saying "worship the same God" if their God sends us to hell.

2. Conditional Dialogue:
Dialogue will only occur if all the violent verses of Q 9:5, Q 9:29, Q 8:12, Q 9:111 are declared invalid by global Islamic authorities. Without that, "dialogue" = taqiyya.

3. Prioritize Lives:
Declare that protecting the people from teachings that justify their blood is more important than the politics of cosmetic harmony.

If the Vatican maintains Nostra Aetate 1965 without revision, it shares moral responsibility for future victims.

Because "respecting" a doctrine that justifies killing us is civilizational suicide.

Asymmetry of reciprocity:
In Muslim-majority countries, Christians are often restricted/persecuted (Open Doors/KWI data), while the Vatican opens its doors wide.

Remember Pope Pius II, St. John of Damascus, and the pre-1965 Church tradition, which was more realistic about Islamic expansion.

The more an individual or a group busies itself with declaring others infidels, passing judgment, or consigning them to hell, the more evident it becomes that their foundational identity is insecure. A robust identity is not built upon the notion that "we are purer than they are," but rather upon something far deeper and more stable.

Those who are insecure need enemies; those who are self-assured simply tend to their own house.

True historical authority has no need to raise its voice or cast stones to prove its existence. When a house is built upon a foundation of unbroken continuity spanning nearly two millennia—supported by the records of ecumenical councils and the blood of some 70 million martyrs—it has no need to search for broken mirrors in the outside world; it can simply let those records speak for themselves.

Isa is not Jesus:

Both before and after the advent of Islam, Arab Christians have used the name *Yasu* (يسوع). It derives from the Hebrew *Yeshua*, meaning "YHWH is Salvation." The root is clear: Yod-Shin-Waw-Ayin. We have never used, do not care for, and have no desire to acknowledge the Arab version known as *Isa* (عيسى).

Feel free to debate based on delusions and your own "subjective, imaginative" interpretations; however, not a single Arab Christian manuscript—from the Sinai Arabic MSS predating Islam through to the present day—uses the name *Isa* (عيسى) in the scriptures or liturgy of the Eastern Christian Peshitta.

Equating "Isa" with "Jesus" constitutes a form of linguistic and historical hijacking (appropriating a name to claim legitimacy).
