The Krama is a traditional woven textile deeply rooted in Cambodia’s daily life and cultural traditions.
In 2024, Krama was inscribed on the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, recognising its cultural significance and the communities who keep the tradition alive.
Woven from cotton or silk using traditional handlooms, krama features distinctive grid patterns dyed with natural colors from plants and insects. It is used in many ways: as a scarf, belt, blanket, bandana, decorative cloth, and even a hammock for children.
A simple cloth, yet a powerful symbol of Cambodia’s cultural identity and community spirit.

A vital bridge connecting Cambodia and Thailand, key for ASEAN connectivity, was destroyed by Thai F-16 airstrikes, disrupting cross-border transport and raising regional security concerns.
At At 10:08 a.m. and 10:11 a.m. on December 15, the Thai military used F-16 fighter jets to drop two bombs in Chong Kal District and Srei Snam District, Siem Reap Province, near refugee camps, penetrating more than 70 kilometers into Cambodian territory.
This constitutes an act of aggression by the Thai military, deliberately targeting civilians and civilian infrastructure. Thailand has violated international law by attacking civilians.
The video footage shows students at a school in Srei Snam District fleeing after the Thai military dropped bombs near their school.
The number of civilians killed by Thailand’s armed aggressive attacks has risen to 12, with 74 injured. The number of displaced civilians has increased to more than 400,000 people.

An elderly resident told me he was feeding his cows when he saw explosions across the river where he was, some 200m away
How many times have we had to run away from school and home of the war? 🥺

The F-16 is a tool of national defense, not a weapon of civilian suffering; its deployment must always respect human life and the laws that protect it.
