So lemme get this straight...
While watching the broadcast the whole world agreed that it was a bang bang play and shouldn't have been a red card.
And now the red card gets, in a sense, reversed and now the whole world is pissed?
#Norway coach Stale Solbkakken on FIFA overturning Balogun red card: "That's a big mistake by FIFA….What about the next red card, what happens then? It's a bad bad bad bad bad decision. I also feel for USA. If they win, it hangs in the background. Not good for the sport.” #USMNT
No there will not. We should have had Balogun the whole time. I truly cannot believe what is being said about this situation by people outside of the US
Norway manager Stale Solbakken joins the criticism of decision to rescind Folarin Balogun's red card: 'A big mistake by FIFA. A bad, bad, bad decision and I feel sorry for the United States because if they win against Belgium, there will always be this extra thing about it'
Everyone: "That should have never been a red card."
{FIFA fixes the mistake.}
Everyone not in the USA: "How dare you fix the mistake!"
Ok. Well...have fun with your temper tantrums.
Now we get a fair and square match. Like we always should have.
That is incorrect. There is an appeal process via the Disciplinary Committee, @ussoccer went through it and, in my opinion, the correct result was achieved due to an incorrect application of the VAR rules, general equity and past precedent.
As for Belgium, they should not be benefitted by a wrong decision nor should they want to play a short-handed team. All countries in a World Cup tournament should have confidence in their team and desire to beat an opponent at full strength, simple.
No matter what you think about Balogun's red card, overturning it is just plain cheating and corruption and makes the tournament tainted, especially if USA continue to progress.
Crazy… FIFA actually already did this for Ronaldo. Good, I’m glad they did. I want to see Ronaldo in every game. But it’s amazing that I didn’t even know about this. No one seemed to care when it happened for Ronaldo and Portugal
This is insane.
This is the first time a red card has been overturned in the World Cup in over 60 years.
Even if you think the red card wasn’t legitimate, this is clearly a political, corrupt decision by FIFA.
“Bad” calls happen all the time, and they’re never overturned.
If Messi or Mbappe or any top player were given a red for what Balogun did, and had to miss a game I would hate that. It’s the World Cup, I want to see the best play. To see people so upset that FIFA overturned a ruling that was originally a horrible decision is mind blowing
@ESPNFC@herculezg If this happened to Messi, Argentina wouldn’t want the same thing? France wouldn’t want them to do this for Mbappe? Norway for Haaland? Portugal for Ronaldo? Give me a break. Actually if it were any of those guys a red card wouldn’t even have been given to begin with.
@TheSunFootball@MartinLipton The decision to give him a red card in the first place, when there was clearly no “intent or malice” to injure the Bosnian player was shameful and disgraceful. This decision overturns one that should have never occurred to begin with.
@MarkOgden_ Horrendous article. Balogun was unjustly given a red card, even after review. VAR should have ruled out his “intent/malice” in the play, immediately. Also, Messi already benefited by not being given any card when he maliciously stepped on the back of a leg earlier in the tourney

Period 😤😤
@GoodmanHoops Trading the #1 pick to the 76ers to go back to the #3 pick to draft Jayson Tatum who ends up winning an NBA championship has got to be at least on this list. But should be top 5 in my opinion
I like the PGA Championship being a low scoring affair, as it completes the 4 challenges of the Grand Slam
Masters: Can you manage the ghosts of your past misfortunes?
U.S. Open: Can you win when you are physically and mentally challenged?
Open: Can you defeat Mother Nature?
PGA: Can you go low when you need to win?
The Grand Slam represents the most well rounded golfers in history.

@SethOnHoops@MarchMadnessMBB Why don’t we just let everyone in @SethOnHoops The regular season can just be a bunch of exhibition games that lead up to the tournament. You have 30 games to make a field of 68 (Top 20%). This expansion will just lead to another expansion, when they want more money.
@mrmckee Maybe don’t leave for LIV in the first place…. Actually really like Brooks and happy he’s back, but there has to be a price to pay. All golf fans would love to see Brooks, Bryson, Rahm and others in the main field this week. But has to be consequences for actions
