📍Politicians are not born politicians. They come from among us. The truth is, many of us are no better. From lecturers harassing students, to bosses delaying salaries, to MDs mismanaging funds. Evil exists in every corner of our society. So it’s not just about politics.
Nigerians trust each other more than they trust their politicians.
That’s why it hurts deeply when a Nigerian scams another Nigerian.
Sometimes, I wonder if we are any better than the politicians.
Too many scam stories on X in less than a year. And I’m sure there are still plenty of scam accounts posing as professionals.
But trust me, whether you’re a big account or small account, one day, breeze go blow, and fowl yansh go open.
Just continue!
As a guy, it is imperative that you find your people, peers/mentors, that you share your worries with. It's a busy world out here, it's lighter together.
Happy men's mental health month.
This year, be the change you want to see.
I get money for anything you wanna eat and drink when you come over
I get money for taking US out to places I wanna see as well
I get money for affording soft lifestyle for myself( you can tag)
I no get money for wigs, to change your phone or your family issue, or back to back craving or clubbing for Snapchat aesthetics!!
That receipt was from 2020, right? That was when Apostle Suleiman announced he was giving out money to people to celebrate his wife.
Truth be told, if he had picked me back then, that ₦20k would have really helped me at the time. But I wasn’t chosen. Instead, I picked myself up, worked extremely hard, and found a way to relocate to the United Kingdom.
Fast forward to today, I’ve been able to help so many people on these Twitter streets both online and offline. I know how vulnerable it feels to drop your account details online, hoping for help from strangers.
So tell me, you so-called “street boy,” what exactly have you done for this Twitter community? Nothing. You’re just a pathetic old agbero, still busy defending a failed government.
I spit in your face, omo irankiran.
You see proximity?
Yes, proximity. That's all it takes for your wife or girlfriend to do something contrary to your marital vows or promises. And vice versa.
While factors like status and looks compel attraction, proximity operationalises it. It sets it in motion.
In proximity, conversations happen. Gestures are made. Assistance is rendered. Compliments flow. Familiarity grows. And with this, what once existed as a mere inkling magnifies into feeling and desire.
This is why your girlfriend gets into the university and suddenly becomes "busy" all the time. She is crushing on someone, talking to someone with whom she now shares proximity.
Because attraction is not destiny. It is simply two people, in the same place, at the same time, finding each other sufficiently safe to risk vulnerability. Human beings are always looking to take that risk. Emotion merely supplies the excuse.
But what is the message in all of this?
The message is simple and straightforward: principles are easy when proximity is absent.
"I trust my woman."
"I don't check my woman's phone."
"She can have as many male friends as she likes."
These convictions are often made in the comfort of distance, before life introduces that co-worker, classmate, business partner, a neighbour, gym instructor, or the FRIENDLY superior at Work.
The real threat to a relationship is rarely attraction in isolation. Attraction is common. Proximity is what gives attraction the opportunity to negotiate with conscience.
This is why wise men do not merely manage feelings; they manage circumstances.
Because loyalty is easier maintained at a distance than it is tested in constant proximity.
Check that f*cking phone early enough. Tell her you see her conversation with a particular colleague and it's too personal. Look for the signs. And make your warnings early.
But then, I have said enough.
Good luck. Or, congratulations.
The grand problem na say…
Una dey see poverty/lack as ‘spiritual problem’
Whole time it’s just someone that hasn’t gotten his grip yet in a shitty environment/economy working 10 times against his growth.
This your talk na pure and applied bullsh!t btw.
He needs to shut the entire fuck up.
It is the nature of a lover to give, not the nature of a man. He should focus on salvation and leave intergender relationship alone. He is breeding men in unrequited love and entitled women.
A man is broke but he should be making promises to come through next month to show he is a man. Nonsense!
Nigerians wey their body dey intact from head to toe dey vex for their parent and God say them no born them into wealth and say them no get any comparative advantage.
I mean, life is so excruciatingly difficult for the average Nigerian despite having no physical and mental health problems that they sometimes contemplate killing themselves as a result.
Yet, the same clowns are advocating for children with Down syndrome and other deformities to get a chance at life in the same shithole where government has nothing in store to support vulnerable members of society with.
Take Nigerians seriously at your own peril!!!
It's the fact some men think this is cute that amazes me. If only they knew how disgusted their woman feel for them.
Women are closer to babies but you're acting like a baby, so who do you think she'll run to when she needs a shoulder to lean on?
This is why women cheat on these kind of men who are overly emotional and attached to their woman because they're too weak to lead a woman properly.
Without a second thought, the child would be sent back to where it came from!!!
Life is already very hard and unpleasant for normal kids and adults, so I wouldn’t want to be the one who brings a child with some syndrome into the world to suffer till death.
Plus the fact that I’m easily irritated.
May God not test us more than we can bear.
Bishop Oyedepo is from Kwara State. Pastor Paul Enenche is from Benue. Both men were critics of the APC led government under Buhari. Despite this, APC won in Benue and Kwara State. Asides that Living Faith is one of the largest churches in Nigeria with its members predominantly Yoruba. If we are to base your logic on what you wrote, then APC isn’t supposed to win the southwest. Both Oyedepo and Enenche were Obi supporters.
SW is a mixture of both Christians, Muslims and Traditionalists and the Muslims got the numbers too. If you think that Adeboye’s opposition to Tinubu will make Tinubu lose 20% of the SW votes, then your argument again is poorly reasoned because it ignores the religious demographics of the voters.
So your argument that religious leaders control their members is flawed. Pastors influence their members based on religious doctrines but not politics.
The people employed as good citizens earn salaries that cannot even sustain them for 10 days after feeding, rent, transport and children’s school fees are removed, yet you expect honest civil servants everywhere.
A constituency has a senator, House of Reps member, chairman and a chancellor, yet no good roads, no clean water, no stable electricity in that area and nothing to show for all the allowances and project funds collected every month. Why does a poor country have so many elected positions? To do what? There are governors, commissioners and countless political offices everywhere, yet there are zero basic amenities to make anyone a good citizen while you listen to one politician stealing billions.
Every 3 and half years another shambolic election with billions thrown everywhere, showing same set of failed people, then you have no choice than to choose who failed less when we clearly know they are failure but because of tribe, religion and the token you have been paid you start fighting on X and want others to also defend your bullshit and then suddenly everybody wants a safe society? lol, This system of government needs a reboot and a complete overhaul because this one is not working.
