Assistant Principal at North Education Center, Intermediate School District 287

North Education Center played Barnga today as a community to talk about racial equity. A game? Yep. It's surprising how much it correlates with white privilege, systemic racism, and majority/minority perspectives. Look it up! #287edchat

North Education Center is in need of a out of the box think school counselor?! Working school wide but most often, the ALC and High School... and me?! Know anyone? https://t.co/rb5JskS4mi

[Intermediate District 287 @District287]

Intermediate District 287 would like to recognize Justine McGee for going Above and Beyond! She was nominated in the “Racial Equity” category and is well-known for her incredible advocacy for our students. Congratulations Justine!

A little Tier 2 HS kickball action. The trash tall is epic.. and for a moment in time, our kids get to be kids. (So do the staff!) 😀#287edchat

You guys!! I saw 2 students today. There. Were. Students. In. The. Building. It filled my heart to see them, to see how they've grown in 6 months, to see staff interact with them, and how everyone glowed. I can't wait to see some more tomorrow. ❤ Small wins. Big impact.

@MacnallyA @ebdoherty71 I'm interested to learn more! Too many links and not visual enough is a struggle for me too!

Proud of our district and staff being ahead of the curve!

Time to keep adding to my library!

Black literature saved me, raised me, fed me, made me. Black literature taught me how to think, how to write, how to challenge, how to be me. This week, I’m supporting a campaign to buy two books by Black writers. Join us. #blackpublishingpower #blackoutbestsellerlist

We are doing this as a book study as a district admin group. Only on Chapter 4.. and a lot to think about already.

[Ibram X. Kendi @ibramxk]

I wrote this book for this moment, for this moment to become a movement, for the movement to transform us as we transform this country. Thank you to the folks reading + recommending #HowToBeAnAntiracist. Use it as springboard into antiracist action. Justice needs you, all of you.
