Imagine a young entrepreneur in Nairobi trying to pay a supplier in another African country.
The technology exists. The opportunity exists.
Yet financial systems remain fragmented, expensive, and disconnected.
This is exactly the challenge @UtribeOne Tribe is working to solve.

BREAKING: META REPORTEDLY PAID CONTRACTORS TO POSE AS TEENAGERS AND TEST RIVAL AI CHATBOTS.
According to a WIRED investigation, Meta hired hundreds of contractors to create fake teen accounts and stress-test ChatGPT, Gemini, and CharacterAI.
The contractors reportedly asked thousands of questions about suicide, self-harm, eating disorders, sex, and drugs, while recording how each chatbot responded.
One stage of the project, reportedly called โCannes,โ included more than 45,000 prompts.
Meta says this kind of testing is common across the AI industry and helps companies compare systems and improve safety.
@AlphaWireHQ If true, this highlights how important AI safety testing has become.
The key isn't just testing models, it's making sure the process is transparent and ultimately leads to safer AI for everyone.
BREAKING: REVOLUT TO DELIST USDT FOR 50M USERS BY AUGUST 31
Revolut is reportedly removing Tetherโs USDT from its platform, giving its 50M users until August 31 to sell or withdraw before remaining balances are converted to fiat.
With USDT being pushed off licensed EU platforms, USDC now stands as the only major dollar stablecoin with full MiCA approval, leaving Circle with little direct competition across the EU.
@AlphaWireHQ This is another reminder that regulation is shaping the stablecoin market.
For users, staying informed about platform changes is just as important as choosing which assets to hold.
@AlphaWireHQ Thanks for another solid roundup.
The crypto space moves fast, and keeping up with the latest developments helps everyone make more informed decisions.
Today's takeaway:
Bitcoin's long-term strength may depend more on global liquidity than short-term market noise, and it's interesting to see research continue challenging old assumptions about Bitcoin's security.
The market keeps evolving.

BREAKING: Wallets tied to Irish drug dealer Clifton Collins just deposited another 500 $BTC, worth $30.85M, to Coinbase Prime.
Collins reportedly bought around 6,000 $BTC in 2011โ2012 at roughly $5 per coin, printed the private keys, and hid them inside fishing rods.
Authorities later seized his assets but never recovered the keys. After 10 years of silence, the wallets suddenly woke up 3 months ago.
Since then, 1,500 $BTC has been sent to Coinbase Prime and Wintermute.
The wallets still hold 4,500 $BTC, worth around $276M.
@AlphaWireHQ Stories like this remind us how early Bitcoin was and how important secure key management is.
It'll be interesting to see whether these transfers are part of a larger plan or just the beginning.
NEW: The $ANSEM airdrop is going IRL.
Ansem sent 379 SOL, worth roughly $30,000, to @nevergoon100.
He committed to buying $ANSEM, distributing the full amount to people in real life, keeping the wallet public, and documenting the process.
@AlphaWireHQ@nevergoon100 This is an interesting way to take an airdrop beyond the internet.
It'll be fun to see how the distribution plays out and whether it helps bring more people into the community.
LATEST FROM ANTHROPIC:
Claude Fable 5 appears to have come back heavily restricted.
After re-running the July 1st version of Fable 5 on BridgeBench, the results dropped sharply:
- Debugging: 86.2 โ 25.9
- Refactoring: 73.6 โ 38.4
- Hallucination: 75.9 โ 61.7
The issue may not be the model itself, but the new guardrails Anthropic has placed around it.
Too many tasks are being blocked, redirected, or falling back to Opus 4.8. This is not the same model that originally caused controversy.
Anthropic owes users a clear explanation.
@AlphaWireHQ If these results are accurate, transparency is important.
Users need to understand whether changes are due to the model itself or new safety guardrails, so they can set the right expectations for how it performs.
