Failure 101.
Àgbàakin’s corner
We don’t document our failures enough, we most times see only “I am delighted” nudged to do that this morning.
1) I wrote O’level four times looking for Physics before I eventually make a C6 in my Nov/Dec NECO in 2009, till date, I don’t have a single O’level, I combined two.
2) I wrote JAMB four times before I eventually gained entry into FUTA in 2012 & graduated 2017, my high school colleagues were already in final year same period.
3) I started applying for scholarship opportunities in the year 2017 and I didn’t win until four years later in 2021; I applied for 26 in total.
4) When I wanted to do a PhD, I wrote cold emails to over 100 Food science/Chemistry Professors in Canada (I only want Canada, so I didn’t bother to apply to any other country), only one gave me a “Yes”- though I’ll later decline to stay in Europe.
5) I’ve applied to over 5,000 jobs in the last three years, sat for over 25 interviews and I got only 4 congratulations.
Nobody promise us it’ll be easy, it never will. Keep grinding mates, the dream of the future will definitely be better than the history of the past.
NB- This is not an exhaustive list of my failures, there exist more.
@itsSh0la Pick 5 of your followers, pay for any tech skills for them, interested and serious minded persons who really need it. Raising men is the biggest investment in life. @itsSh0la
It’s even good as we lost tonight, Congo played a better game than the Super Eagles. That team needs a complete reset. Many players there aren’t even meant to be there. Not up to 4 players on that team deserve to put on the Country’s jersey. Disappointing!!!
@Mrcas__ Congratulations Boss. You one person that I have learnt so much from low key. You are just you, so real to earth, not chasing crowds but steady on what you know how to do. I will be here when you post your 100k connections as well. Congratulations 👏👏
@Mrcas__ This is just so on point….a lot of young people out there including me became so frustrated at some point because they was no form of guidance or mentorship, mentorship for legal hustles are been monetized while the illegal ones are free. So pathetic, God Help us.
Back then, Yahoo Yahoo scam didn’t spread because people loved crime.
It spread because people saw results.
You’d see one guy in the area who used to trek suddenly start driving a Benz.
Another moves out of his parent’s house, buys an iPhone, starts dressing clean.
People noticed. And more boys wanted that life too.
Then came the “HKs” ,Hustle Kingdoms.
Most boys who joined had no opportunities, no options, no help.
Some didn’t even have a phone.
The HK boss would give them everything they needed to succeed, tools, mentorship, guidance, and in a few months they'll become successful and some of them even go on to establish their own HKs.
It became a full ecosystem, powered by visible success and structured mentorship.
Fast forward to today, we have forex traders, crypto traders, and Web3 folks making money that Yahoo boys could only dream of.
But most of them are grinding alone or they just have closed circles.
Imagine if these same traders started building Skill Hks, hubs where young people, even the ones with nothing, can come in, learn for 3–6 months, and go out independent and successful.
Learn crypto, forex, Web3, whatever pays legally.
I know some people are already doing something similar, but we need more of us to step in.
The key is accessibility, it has to reach even those who can’t afford mentorship fees.
Remember, Yahoo HKs don’t ask for any fees. They give you everything you needed to succeed, tools, guidance, even food.
If we want to replace the Yahoo HK culture, the legal HKs for crypto, forex, and Web3 have to operate the same way: open to anyone with potential, regardless of their starting point.
If we do this consistently, we’ll raise a generation that doesn’t need to touch fraud.
We’ll replace the Yahoo HK culture with something legal, accessible, and better.
Because at the end of the day, the streets don’t care if it’s fraud or skill, they just care about a system that works and can take them out of poverty.
