@secnumbersguy Over the past five seasons, Notre Dame has more ranked wins (18) than most college football teams (including: Georgia, Miami, Ohio St. Indiana). The narrative of a weak schedule is misappropriated and lazy.
Notre Dame has played 18 ranked opponents in the regular season since the start of 2022 (the Freeman era).
That's more than Georgia (17), Ohio State (15), Miami (10), Indiana (10), BYU (10), Texas Tech (14), etc. Comparable with Alabama (21), Texas (20), etc.
Over the last 2.5 years, ND has lost 5 games. ND’s record is 30-5.
Those 5 losses have been gut-wrenching:
NIU lost in the last seconds
OSU National championship game
Miami lost in the last minute
TAM lost in the last seconds
BYU lost in the last seconds
On Notre Dame’s final drive, there were multiple occasions where the clock ran longer than it was supposed to:
• Out of bounds at 0:27, clock goes to 0:26
• Out of bounds at 0:17, clock goes to 0:15
BYU’s clock operator needs to be investigated.
@Big12Conference@BYUfootball@BYUCougars This is an incredibly wild tweet, because of your own admission that the officials royally messed up the conclusion of the game. There is still time to take this down.
Big 12 statement:
"Following the Big 12’s review of the final play of Saturday’s Notre Dame-BYU game, it was determined that time remained on the clock when the ball hit the ground and the play was incorrectly cleared by the replay officiating crew. The Conference will conduct a complete review of its end-of-game officiating process in advance of next week's games."
A closer look at the controversial ending of tonight’s BYU-Notre Dame game.
ABC rules analyst Matt Austin acknowledged that defensive pass interference likely occurred on Jaden Greathouse as the ball fell incomplete.
The ending has also sparked debate over whether one second should have remained on the clock after the pass was ruled incomplete.
🚨🚨ABSOLUTE ROBBERY🚨🚨
THIS CAMERA ANGLE SHOWS MULTIPLE VIEWS FROM INSIDE THE STADIUM, WITH BOTH THE STADIUM CLOCK AND TELEVISION CLOCK APPEARING TO SHOW ONE SECOND REMAINING.
INSTEAD, THE REFS ENDED THE GAME WITHOUT GIVING NOTRE DAME ANOTHER PLAY.
🤯
@GrantReacts1 Irish got hosed by the refs on the last play. Pass interference and 1 second left on the clock. Great game. Sad to see it end in such a disgusting manner
