Why when you export an #ARM template does it duplicate where resources are defined? For instance, setting an NSG rule both inline and as a separate resource 🤨 Makes the template seem much more daunting than they actually are. #Azure

Made a switch from #Terraform to #ARM templates today for automating DR resources combined with #ASR. Export, tweak and parametise👍 so much easier with #VSCode tools. I Still feel #terraform scales better though..(?)

@BenCodeGeek @guywald I use a side taskbar with the auto hide feature and I still find it still annoying with pop up alerts, especially from Teams. I’ve been trying to lose the taskbar completely (possible?) as I only ever use win tab or alt tab for switching anyway. GNOME style!

@BenCodeGeek Even with the limited VsCode extentions I find Terraform quicker and simpler to author for larger solutions. However I am liking the ARM what-if within a pipeline! I end up working with both tools depending on the customer, so often choose the best-fit approach.

@BenCodeGeek I’m not so sure it’s a hack. I would equate it to running CLI/PowerShell in a DevOps task to get the job done. Bringing into to Terraform keeps it in one place and more flexible, even if you are making up for Terraform shortcomings or crossing over into config management.
