As the AFL umpiring team assesses the Nick Watson decision, this is the best angle. There is no broadcast vision of that angle. The question is whether Watson veering right is enough to call play on? Would you call it in the last seconds of a Grand Final?
@CaptainRex94@iamjoshbaxter Fair enough. So Watson could’ve told the umpire he was going to begin his run up 2 metres to the left of the mark then kicked ‘over it’?
@austinkain4@iamjoshbaxter Yeah that’s right. However both scenarios feature a player not being on their line at some stage as they run in for a shot at goal - hardly makes sense.
Ppl saying you have to kick over the man on the mark, this eg. debugs that theory, because you can kick before you’re in line
@iamjoshbaxter What about the new rule that when you kick after the siren on the boundary you can improve your angle from well off your line?
It makes a complete mockery of that rule change.
