Today workers at Meander Valley Council would have needed to track down to Bothwell to have their say on forced council amalgamations that includes a mega council option that stretches to Brighton. Guess what? Not one made the 3 hr round trip. Why? This isn’t local. #politas

But the State Govt. needs to make the same assurances that they will work in good faith with the Local Government sector.

Communities in Carrick, Hadspen, Prospect Vale, and Blackstone Heights are currently being lumped with Launceston in several amalgamation proposals.

The Meander Valley is the third lowest rating council in Tasmania. Launceston is significantly higher.
