@BenGOcean from @HeriotWattUni runs the #FlowCam to determine the community composition in the water collected from the CTDs and dilution experiments. He feels he has a TV, as all of us keep asking him what's in the water today?

And of course, we have #microscopes. The #zooplankton team use them to separate specific species to then measure their respiration rates or egg profuction. @BenGOcean and myself sneak in when free to pick up pteropods or take pictures of the beautiful creatures.

#DY180 to the rescue: one of our #boatymacboat was having problems. He sailed from Iceland to us, and now it's on board to get fixed. Some DIY for a safety recover 🙂 @biocarbon_nerc @NOCnews

We’ve found the white water! This region looks like bright tropical water due to being “chalk” full of coccolithophores and their calcium carbonate liths, or shells. Just what we’ve been looking for on #DY180!

Our 4 gliders are away! We sent off 4 autonomous vehicles that will stay in the Icelandic basin collecting data until we retrieve them this fall.
