I am proud to take office today as the 78th president of The Florida Bar. I pledge to serve the over 116,000 Florida lawyers and focus on the issues confronting our justice system with integrity and humility.
Campaign consultants spent decades perfecting attack ads.
Now, the @FloridaGOP can make one in a weekend with AI.
@JaredEMoskowitz and @Jenkins4Florida may be Florida’s first glimpse of the next campaign arms race.

I’m proud to announce that I have officially qualified as a candidate for Florida Governor.
We’re not letting our foot off the gas — we are going to continue making our case in every corner of this great state.
I’ll never stop fighting to make your life more affordable and defend the Florida Dream for the next generation.
Judge Thomas D. Winokur has been elected without opposition to serve as the next Chief Judge designate of the First District Court of Appeal. His two-year term as Chief Judge will begin on July 1, 2027.
I am thankful to the search committee for naming me the sole finalist to become Polk State College’s next president.
Florida College System institutions play a critical role in preparing students for in-demand, high-wage positions. During my time as Commissioner, I have proudly touted their incredible outcomes as they serve more than 680,000 students across the state and provide more than 130,000 degrees and certifications each year. It is an honor to be blessed with this opportunity, and I am excited to contribute to that work in a new capacity while continuing to support strong partnerships between K-12 schools, colleges, and universities.
I also look forward to working with the Board of Trustees, cabinet members, and the faculty whose dedication is transforming students’ lives and equipping them with the knowledge and skills needed to succeed in their careers.
No matter the position I serve in, I remain committed to the belief that education is the foundation of opportunity and the key to a stronger future.
On April 14, @Shutts & Bowen LLP was proud to support a groundbreaking event for the expanded and modernized #Florida Department of Corrections’ Fallen Officer and Employee Memorial, honoring the memory of those who have made the ultimate sacrifice. Tallahassee partners @Thomasina Moore and @Ben Gibson attended in support of this meaningful event.
Big win for election integrity! The federal district court’s ruling upholds Florida’s safeguards passed to protect the integrity of the citizens initiative constitutional amendment process.
Florida has the right to stop fraud, ensure valid signatures, and increase transparency. https://t.co/zH3pLforAM
This was a great win as Florida’s right to safeguard its citizen initiative constitutional amendment process was upheld. Florida continues to remain the nation’s gold standard for election integrity.
In another big win for election integrity the state prevailed on all claims filed by plaintiffs in the HB 1205 litigation. HB 1205 is the law adding safeguards to the initiative petition process. Of note, this was before Judge Walker in federal court.
The 2nd opinion is in Louisiana v. Callais, on race-based discrimination and the Voting Rights Act. A 6-3 court held that Louisiana's map creating a 2nd majority-black district was "an unconstitutional racial gerrymander." Court didn't strike Section 2.

The first opinion of the morning is in First Choice Women's Resource Centers v. Davenport, a case about whether a nonprofit can challenge a subpoena demanding the identities of its financial supporters in federal court. The court unanimously says yes.

It was great to sit down with @MZHemingway yesterday at the @TheRepLawyer National Policy Conference to talk about her excellent and timely new book on Justice Alito.
I have tremendous confidence in @Sonderling47 now leading the Department of Labor.
He deeply understands the issues that matter most to MAGA, and he was a driving force behind the recent ruling that empowers Americans to invest their 401(k)s in private markets.
🇺🇸
It’s a great idea and FL’s new candidate qualifying forms now require dual citizenship disclosure, thanks to the Legislature passing HB 991 (2026) and Governor signing into law.
Individuals should be required to disclose whether or NOT they are dual citizens when they file to run for office. You can’t be loyal to two countries. ONLY America. @GovRonDeSantis should consider adding this to FL candidate disclosure forms.
Hard to describe how much I love this day. Beaming with pride to see my friend @FAMU_1887’s 13th President @marvabjohnson’s Investiture on the Highest of 7 Hills. It was an incredible celebration worthy of her - a brilliant, tenacious, faithful woman who always puts students first and demands excellence. Excited for FAMU’s next chapter! 💚🧡
Congratulations to fellow Floridian and fellow Gator @Sonderling47 as he steps in as acting Secretary of Labor.
Best of luck in the role and I look forward to working with you!
