@jayroo69@StephenKing Sick burn bro. Tell a best-selling novelist and one of the greatest fiction writers of our time his latest book is boring and put an idiot to sleep. F+ for lack of effort.
Hey @pattonoswalt, longtime fan of everything you do. Quick question, in My Fitness Future, was “Pop Pop” a conscious comedic choice, or does anyone actually call you Pop Pop? Totally agree that “Pop Pop” sounds funnier than “Daddy” or any other option. Thanks for making me laugh
@theWYREonlyne@JasonIsbell And just in case it’s not clear, I admire the hell out of her for being a genuine Southern lady who’s not afraid of change in support of common decency and respecting the life experiences of others, especially those unlike your own. Love ya, @DollyParton!
@theWYREonlyne@JasonIsbell The Black Lives Matter movement is in retrospect unfortunately named (it should have been Black Lives Matter Too). But I think @DollyParton is aware of the political repercussions and general tone-deafness of the All Lives Matter movement. https://t.co/oLzzAS5sPL
@davidrschaffer@JasonIsbell *existence. The little red squiggly underline means you spelled it wrong. Let’s start there. You were wrong and missed it. You’re wrong about chromosomes too. Recognize.
@abbymullen@lingthusiasm I’m a big fan of Our Magnificent Bastard Tongue by John McWhorter, host of my other favorite linguistics podcast, Lexicon Valley.
@superlinguo@lingthusiasm@GretchenAMcC Hehe, makes sense to me! My girlfriend is Canadian. She says she’s heard it both ways. We pronounce things funny down here in Louisiana too! :)
@lingthusiasm Has anyone commented on @GretchenAMcC’s pronunciation of “bilingual” as bi-ling-gyu-al vs. bi-ling-gwal? I know that’s a typically British pronunciation common with Canadians, but sounds weird to me because she says “linguistics” with a “gw”.
@nickchapsas One day it’ll come out that CSS was created as a joke to give front-end web devs job security. And to create a whole new profession, WEB DESIGNER. Similar to the fake “leaked” interview that Bjarne Stroustrup created C++ as a joke to create high-paying jobs for programmers. ;)
@Nick_Craver @joshooaj I would imagine password managers can bypass it by doing that automatically? If not, they should. If not not, hello TamperMonkey! Or something like @schemburkar’s extension.
@Nick_Craver I miss Mercurial. The commands were so much more intuitive. I know it’s still around, but almost everything’s on GitHub nowadays. And typing the chemical symbol for Mercury ‘hg’ was just fun. ;)
@kscottz I was just looking through my old tweets, and now I feel silly that I didn’t automatically think of this classic Steve Martin SNL commercial parody. Anyway, enjoy!

@drgonzo123 Yeah, as much as your boss’s feelings were hurt by several employees leaving at the same time, not your job to coordinate leaving with coworkers. Now you get zero notice. Two weeks? How bout zero? Okay, bye bye, good luck with that! And show that email to your next employer. ;)
