However, the fellowship was postponed to 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and I became part of the first virtual cohort of the fellowship. In 2022, I was accepted for the MWF Alumni Enrichment institutes, which consolidated the virtual component with a physical experience.

I am honoured to be one of the 10 Mandela Washington Fellows celebrated by the U.S. Embassy in Zimbabwe @USEmbZim for our work and impact. This is a major highlight of my career, and I can't help but reflect on the journey thus far.

The fellowship accepts 700 leaders from over 50,000 applications each year which is a 1.4% acceptance rate! I wrote my Mandela Washington Fellowship application in 2019. The interview and acceptance followed in 2020.

@isirc2021 Today I got out my @jcizim Award from 2021. Being honoured as one of the Ten Outstanding Young Persons in Zimbabwe for Medical Innovation was unbelievable then. To be here 3 years later feels surreal, having my work noticed and considered by the highest office in Zimbabwe.

Yesterday I had the incredible honour of presenting my work with Men's Health Clinic Zimbabwe, which is under consideration for the Presidential Innovation Award in Health. I also highlighted my research triumphs with The Catholic University of Zimbabwe.

The study considered the Utility of Virtual Outreach Programs in Influencing Men's Healthcare-seeking Behaviors. We recorded a 63.9% increase in uptake of health services by men & a subsequent 88% retention rate for those patients. This became the first CUZ paper at @isirc2021

Movember: Men's health awareness month
When I was 24 years old, I created my first digital magazine, (The Men's Health Weekly), using Microsoft Office Word. I desperately needed a platform to positively influence how men viewed their health.
