@ThomasWatsonCD We need a true Canadian company like @RoshelDefence to start producing such systems for us.
Or a European company... Plenty of good options across the pond.
Heck Ukraine is now producing enough 2s22 for export at about 4M$ a pop (vs about 7M$ for a Cesar).
@The_Wolf_of_X@NAFOvoyager If you don't live there you're a POS for judging. It's their day to day life. Trying to live with children is a chore in itself to begin with.
All this is is a tragedy. Civilians shouldn't have to suffer because Putin didn't get a country to bend the knee.
@AbMetisSeejO@kalmeq@RealAlbanianPat Poilievre never ran to win Canada over... He ran to squeeze himself as the winner of the election to impose a minority agenda.
Both he and the CPC deserve this loss.
Right wing populist aligning with conspiracy and dubious ideology groups... Not in my Canada.
@JessieTweeting@OfficerStephen I think we don't know where to start.
An updated defense policy is coming/ has to come for us to roll back F35s as our key strategy.
I expect we'll see some indications of this drone-oriented force from there.
Thoughts @CDNPolicyHawk?
@JamenB60132@Ukraine_Oracle So the US would agree with Canada buying F35s but not Gripen?
US would be hard pressed to justify this block. It would be hugely damaging to international sales.
There was another non-ITAR engine considered for Gripen at but the conclusion is that this isn't necessary atm.
