In 1972, Ray Charles traveled to Kibbutz Sde Boker in the heart of the Negev, where he sat at the piano and performed for Israel’s first Prime Minister, David Ben-Gurion, in the kibbutz dining hall.
Ben-Gurion believed that Israel’s future would bloom in the Negev. More than 50 years later, that vision continues through the people, communities, and institutions that transformed the desert into a center of innovation and opportunity, including Ben-Gurion University, just minutes from where this unforgettable meeting took place.
Two legends. One piano. One timeless moment. 🇮🇱🎹❤️

“The Islamic regime is a religious Nazi regime. They are always lying and cheating. When they spoke about a ‘peace agreement,’ my first thought was that they would never honor it.”
