The woman with the dreadlocks is Manle Djmatey, a Burkinabè woman searching for the Ghanaian family of her late mother, the woman in the old black-and-white photo.

Her mother was born in Ghana in 1960, later moved to Burkina Faso, and returned to Ghana in 2005 while seriously ill. Sadly, she never came back, and the family later learned that she had passed away.

Today, Manle is 40 years old and has never met her mother’s Ghanaian family. She doesn’t know her uncles, aunties, cousins, or even the full story of where her mother came from.

She is not looking for money. She is looking for her roots. Her blood. Her family. ❤️🇬🇭

Please look carefully at the old photograph. Someone in Ghana may recognize this woman.
