NEPA Hoops is officially back.
We’re excited to announce that @NEPAHoops has been acquired by Pocono Invitational Basketball Camp, with coverage resuming immediately across Northeast PA.
Conference play is here — and so are we 🏀
#NEPAHoops#District2#LIAA#WVC@PoconoInvite
A true first-class production at Wilkes-Barre Area by A.D. @HansonCoach and his staff! You won’t be disappointed going to a @WBAPackBball game. Electric atmosphere with gobo lights, new videoboards, interactive fan breaks, a student broadcast crew led by @johnmendolashow, Pep Band… you name it. Kudos!
@Jeff_Frank22@Riverfront_NEPA Thank you and appreciated you stepping in as fill-in coach, plus stopping by many weekends to check out the action! Best of luck this season.
Thank you to everyone who’s supported @NEPAHoops through an incredible and successful 10-month run. This chapter has been something I’ll always be proud of. Excited for what’s ahead, and grateful to be part of such a special basketball community. 🧡
THANK YOU, NEPA 🧡
After an incredible and successful 10-month run, @NEPAHoops is shutting down operations and closing this chapter.
What started as an idea became something much bigger… a platform, a community, and a voice for local basketball.
The work, time, and energy behind it have been worth every bit. It’s time to step away on a high note, proud of what’s been built and the moments shared along the way.
Thank you to everyone who followed, supported, and believed in what we did.
💬 From the Founder/Owner, @Ben_Magnotta (20; full-time college student in Ithaca, NY; 2023 Abington Heights graduate):
“The support and rally from NEPA surrounding NEPA Hoops since day one has been incredible. From the end of non-conference play in December through the heart of league play in the new year, we provided an outlet for all 39 District II boys programs, later expanding to girls coverage during postseason play.
From thrilling district upsets to emotional moments inside Mohegan Arena and historic state runs, to the All-Star Games at Marywood, celebrating seniors from both the LIAA and WVC, this journey has been unforgettable.
We continued into the summer with AAU coverage and launched the Fall Exposure League (FXL) for 7 weeks September-October, which brought together 72 players and multiple college coaches from across the region. With live box scores, leaderboards, and full media coverage, it set a new standard for exposure and development in our area.
NEPA basketball is special, thriving, and the best is still ahead. I’m proud of what we built in just ten months and grateful for every moment — from December 2024 to now. Thank you to our talented media team, all the coaches, the student-athletes, and everyone who supported along the way.
From January through March, we reached 12.2M+ views, 9.7K followers, and 374K interactions across our content, and another 1.7M+ in the past 30 days through the FXL. Seeing local basketball covered on that scale has been truly special.
This chapter closes with pride and appreciation for everyone who helped make it possible. Much love from #NEPAHoops 🏀 #WeAreNEPA 🧡
