@alittlevillainy@dkmbookworm@emilymahonn But that's sorta the job of an adaption. Sometimes it's better to cut parts of the story to fit it into a 2hr movie. If you don't, it can lead to the best parts of the story not having time to breathe.
@bringfiregames@PaulTassi Because it's being shown in software companies that overwhelmingly adopt AI that software quality tanks. Lots of downtime in services that used to be rock solid.
@naranciagaming Very reductionist take. Large corporations (and yes, some indies) will take the easy route, but there's plenty of real artists out there making fantastic games. Can't let AAA define the whole industry.
@WillHaddad8@finelytaylored But the only tickets going on sale are IMAX and other PLFs. The movie will still have open seats in non-PLFs, likely going on sale at the same time as normal.
@XyliaV_Reads @chuckisdeadlmao@CStickernoodle That is false. It can be used for unknown persons (“who left their keys?”) or when gender is irrelevant (“they must lock the register before leaving”).
@tvmpoy @iNCREDiPiNOY Except filmmakers don’t shoot for IMAX like they typically shoot for 1.33:1. They know IMAX footage will be displayed on a six story minimum screen. They frame it for your periphery vision, while 1.33:1 (and similar ratios) often use more of the image.
@AstoundingMoron@tipodissd They have both a laser and film projector. Harkins has been good about getting all the major IMAX 70MM releases since Oppenheimer.
@analogfilmnyc Why is it a bastardization? If they shot for scope, nothing is lost by showing that in most theaters. IMAX is an expansion, not the true version. I’ve yet to see a movie that looked “off” in its standard scope presentation while shot for IMAX.
@rick_diggle@MarkDuplass If that was true, deleted scenes would have a similar effect. Sometimes artists just want to show work that didn’t make the final cut. Might be something impressive or interesting that gives value to the audience or provides insight into the movie making process.
@profkakie@DiscussingFilm Nope. Sinners was shot on a mix of Ultra Panavision 70 and IMAX 15/70. 30 minutes of the film is in IMAX. The Odyssey will be entirely in IMAX.
@TalentedAndHot@alecrobbins That’s insinuating that RE7 is first person horror slop, which I challenge. Great level design and way more willing to get fun with its scares.
@real_catto Two entirely different products. If you don’t value the PC-centric features of the Steam Controller, then of course it makes sense to get something like 8BitDo.
@yiningkarlli One Battle After Another technically has it beaten for highest percentage of 1.43 footage at 100%. Neither was shot on true IMAX film though, The Odyssey will be the first.
