At CSB, we conduct research on a variety of microorganisms. As a lot of processes are executed at high temperatures, thermophilic bacteria can be a great source to expand our #synbio toolbox. Read more in the EOS blog of @Bene_Amery.

But turns out the reason was a rooky mistake😲. I never had this before, not as a bachelor's student nor a lab technician, but finally, as a PhD student, I used the wrong ingredient to make a medium. Turns out it takes quite some expertise to make such a mistake🤓🥲.
What a week! Last weekend I noted that my bacteria no longer wanted to grow on their plate. So I took a sample from the -80°C stock, and guess what?! They still did not grow!🤔 After having contamination the week before and losing my plaques, I was somewhat desperate.😓
