Happening Now: Health Cabinet Secretary Hon. Aden Duale is attending a high-level consultative meeting with the Council of Governors (CoG), chaired by Tharaka Nithi Governor H.E. Muthomi Njuki in Naivasha. The session is focused on addressing emerging issues in the health sector, with a key emphasis on strengthening Primary Health Care (PHC).

The meeting is a follow up of a previous engagement held on 14th April 2025 at CoG, aimed at accelerating the effective implementation of Universal Health Coverage (UHC)—a flagship priority under the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA).

Hon. Duale is also expected to make a presentation on the status of the UHC implementation including the Digital Health System,Social Health Authority among others.

The CS is accompanied by Principal Secretaries Dr. Ouma Oluga (Medical Services) and Ms. Mary Muthoni (Public Health and Professional Standards), as well as Director General for Health, Dr. Patrick Amoth. Also, in attendance are CoG Deputy Chairperson H.E. Mutahi Kahiga and the Kenya Paediatric Research Consortium (Keprecon) team, led by Prof. Fred Were.
