Even the Norwegian Environmental Agency (the government's own scientists!) said this proposition has no scientific or legal background and that it should not go ahead.

Opening the doors to this highly damaging & controversial industry in the Arctic is pure madness: it would have an impact on the rest of the planet. And so it is Norway's responsibility not to drop this bomb on the rest of the world.

#DeepSeaMining would permanently destroy entire ecosystems, generate pollutions, stir up sediments, all of which would have an impact on biodiversity & fisheries. Not to mention the carbon sequestration capacities of the ocean that could be disrupted, impacting our global climate
