@JimMcMurtry01 Jim, you should look at the history of the British Home Children. My grandfather at the age of 5 was sent on a shipload of 200+ other boys to serve as farm labourers in Canada. He was allowed to attend school only until Gr 3 then was sent to a farm to work until age 18.
