JAPAN RELEASES RADIOACTIVE WATER INTO THE PACIFIC OCEAN SOMETIME AFTER 22 AUGUST 2023

Radioactive water from the Fukushima Nuclear Power Plant will be released into the Pacific Ocean sometime after 22 August 2023, according to an announcement by the Japanese Government. The radioactive water has been rebranded as ‘processed water.’ Call it whatever you like it still radioactive water.

This affects each and everyone of us around the world. The contaminated water will enter the Pacific Ocean and with the currents and tides disperse to far shores and eventually other lands. 70% of the earth is made up of ocean. It affects the sea life, it affects the bird life, in turn it affects our lives and other living creatures, the earth and the sea itself.

The Fukushima Nuclear Disaster happened on 11 March 2011. At that time radioactive water entered the Pacific Ocean. We know the debris that ended up on beaches around the Pacific Ocean. Where will the contaminated water end up this time around? What will the long term affects be? No one knows? Well we know that there will be cancers and mutations, and death, but research takes time to record the evidence.

PREVENTION is the best cure.

The Japanese Government has repeatedly declared that the Fukushima Nuclear Disaster is under control.

Tell me then why have tonnes and tonnes of contaminated nuclear waste been transported and spread over multiple Japanese prefectures so that all Japanese people can share the responsibility? The people were not consulted, the people were not asked if they wanted radioactive waste in their backyards.

Tell me why do supermarkets all over Japan sell Fukushima vegetables and other products grown in contaminated soils sell at reduced prices?

Tell me why do restaurants sell Fukushima products grown in contaminated soils advertised as a speciality?

The damage from the nuclear disaster is far reaching through location, population and time.

Scientific data will prove that the spikes in cancers in children living in and around the contaminated site were caused by the Fukushima Nuclear Disaster. By the time the data is collated it might me too late.

Tell me where are the reporter that were flown and bussed into the area directly after the disaster who were encouraged to eat and drink while reporting?

This is not a new phenomenon is Japan. Japan sees what it wants to see and what is unpleasant is ignored. If ignored then it didn’t happen.

Nanjing Massacre springs to mind.

Tomorrow is another disaster, a planned one, a man made one with announcements and fanfare. This is a short sighted decision made by a few seated around a table with little to none experience of the long term effects of nuclear contamination.

Once the genie is out of the bottle you cannot get it back in again.
