@JohKep1571 Wow, I sure will. Studying the motion of mars so thoroughly back in your time is very impressive. I self-taught myself through books that wouldn't exist without your discoveries. You are truly one of the pillars of modern astronomy! 👑

[Benjamin Banneker @BenjaminBanne10]

Btw, just wanted to remind y'all I constructed a working wooden clock that accurately portrayed time until my death! #Brilliant

[Benjamin Banneker @BenjaminBanne10]

My scientific knowledge did not just help me in the field of astronomy, it helped me in regular life. For example, it allowed me to establish an efficient irrigation system for my farm. Science and math is essential to advancing technology and our society. Learn on!

[Benjamin Banneker @BenjaminBanne10]

Look it's me!!!!!

[Benjamin Banneker @BenjaminBanne10]

A picture to show what my almanacs look like. ‼️🔥💪💪

[Benjamin Banneker @BenjaminBanne10]

If I die and and am only remembered as an astronomer, I have failed in life. I wish to be also remembered as a civil-rights activist who helped take a step towards abolishing slavery.

[Benjamin Banneker @BenjaminBanne10]

OKAY, so I also just found out after I die a fire in my house destroys almost all of my works and papers. #unfair

[Benjamin Banneker @BenjaminBanne10]

Ok @carlsag55923283 just told me I die on October 6th, 1801. #RIP

[Benjamin Banneker @BenjaminBanne10]

My many accomplishments, especially in astronomy show that a black man is no less able than a white man. By oppressing the black man, we are wasting potential brilliant minds. #END #SLAVERY

[Benjamin Banneker @BenjaminBanne10]

My accomplishments as an astronomer seems insignificant compared to the more well-known astronomers. However, I am significant because I am more than an astronomer. I use my discoveries to earn respect, which gives me a bigger platform to fight for equality. #MORETHANAASTRONOMER

[Benjamin Banneker @BenjaminBanne10]

Btw, I published my letter to Jefferson and his response in my 1793 almanac. 😤😤😤

[Benjamin Banneker @BenjaminBanne10]

To be honest, Jefferson's response did not just ignore my claims, but seems to be very broad and unclear. It was a sly effort to please me in hopes I leave him alone. This is a big step for the black race; however, we must be persistent and let them know we will not back down. ‼️

[Benjamin Banneker @BenjaminBanne10]

Brethren, Jefferson has responded! He claims he has forwarded my letter to the secretary of the French Academy of Sciences because my argument deserves to be heard. He ignored my claims against him, but stated interest in creating equality for the black race. #stepsforward

[Benjamin Banneker @BenjaminBanne10]

Along with my letter I also sent Jefferson a copy of my first almanac. I want to show him that a black man is capable of anything a white man can do. My accomplishments and predictions are physical proof that skin color is not a valid way to determine intelligence or rank. #EQUAL

[Benjamin Banneker @BenjaminBanne10]

All right, so in my letter to Jefferson I called him out for his hypocrisy. Him and his acquaintances fight the British for independence, while enslaving their own people. I also accused him of using fraud and violence to oppress his slaves. #stickittotheman #fightthepower

[Benjamin Banneker @BenjaminBanne10]

Sent Thomas Jefferson my first almanac as well as a very aggressive letter...#makeadiffrence.

(Details in my next tweet, big things are happening)

[Benjamin Banneker @BenjaminBanne10]

Don't worry, if your're not interested in astronomy my almanacs offer information on a lot of topics. They talk about literature, medical info, tidal info, and some of my opinions! I also have books on bees and calculating the life cycle of the 17 year lotus! #Idoitall #reading

[Benjamin Banneker @BenjaminBanne10]

Guys, don't worry you can find all the information about predicting the eclipse and planetary conjugations throughout my six almanacs, so get cozy and start reading! #bookworms

[Benjamin Banneker @BenjaminBanne10]

I am actually grinding out these almanacs, I have published six of them from 1792-1797 #hardwork #grinddontstop #riseandgrind
