We support the decision of @TorontoPolice not to participate in this program. With no viable plan presented by the federal government, it makes no sense why we would allocate our limited resources towards this misguided attempt at public safety.
In Toronto, our members are dedicated to making an actual difference on our streets by targeting illegal firearms and partnering with other law enforcement agencies to tackle the smuggling of guns and illicit drugs across our borders.
Our position has been clear from the beginning: money spent on the buyback program should be directed to police services across the country, rather than on a bureaucratic program with no tangible evidence of success.
@theepicmap Geography. There are deserts, tundra and mountains dividing China and most other countries around its borders, Tibet is “high ground” between India; the other power in the region.
@RMapleCan That statement is reductive to the point of being misleading. If you borrow .5m for a business it is a smart investment ONLY if the business has a healthy business model with a strong chance of future profits. The amount of businesses leaving Canada show that is NOT our case!
@MelissaLMRogers Who could have possibly predicted investment would stall when ownership/property rights are in question?!? It’s always as though people don’t want to lose money?? How shocking !!?
@KyleKulinski If you think voting for any given party will save you from inflation… it may be wise to learn more about economics and the history of all fiat currencies.
@seamus_coughlin Personally I find it shocking that people who have so little idea about what motivates human beings are able to put such destructive ideas out there and get any sort of traction. It indicates that’s a huge portion of people have a dismal understanding of economics and history.
The richest man in the world and the foremost entrepreneur and innovator of our time spent hundreds of millions of dollars, expended all of his time and human resources, and personally went to DC to work on solving real problems only to discover within a few months that the current system is unfixable beyond repair and is doomed for inevitable collapse.
The logical conclusion from this information is that your time, money, and attention should be diverted from this system and focused on building what comes next.
