The other day, people I know had their children younger than 5 doomscrolling so they would 'behave'.
I glanced and all they were watching was AI generated bullshit like below. For hours.
I've never liked the whole "it's over for normies" messages. But it's truly over for many.
That's pretty much it tbh. X still is at the forefront in many aspects.
But due to how all social media platforms seem to be as connected as ever, any speed difference is very short.
Platforms like Reddit & LinkedIn might be slower, but this might be good for curation.

Reflections on X, & other social media platforms, after not posting for 10 months.
On the X feed:
I lurk occasionally, both on this account & on an anon one that follows less people & hadn't used in years.
After a few weeks, the "for you" page was pretty much identical.

I still think the single most impactful thing to have happened in the last few years was monetization for tweeting.
The second most impactful thing is AI/LLMs.
Monetization changed the meta. AI changed the scale.
People adapted. This means change.
