I am really grateful to @rcpsychEDFac for receiving one of two annual research bursaries to support my work on the link between disordered eating and eating disorder diagnosis, supervised by @TNewloveDelgado and @drbould!
Thank you for organising such an inspirational conference!
The MEED guidelines for #eatingdisorders are becoming more widely used, but so many still don’t know about these VERY helpful summary sheets below 👇🏽 We would also love to hear feedback about the MEED guidelines in your area. Please RT
I’m nervous to share this but my paper is out in @TheLancetPsych today! I’ve written about #eatingdisorders, “terminal anorexia” and withdrawing treatment alongside @AgnesAyton@sensinglorna@Suzanne38063826 & others.
I am both proud & sad to write it.

I am delighted to welcome our new research associate Claudia Fry to the EMIC team @UNUEHS today.
Claudia has great expertise on our core topic of #climatemobility which she gained in her MSc thesis @UniofExeter & working on @ProjectMisty.
We look forward to working with you!!
JDC today voted to enter trade dispute on behalf of junior doctors in England with the Government over pay, recognising anger felt at years of damaging pay cuts, chronic staff shortages and persistent underfunding.
A ballot for industrial action is planned for around January 9
Outrageous that 84 junior doctors at @UHSussex are STILL waiting for their full August pay, now over a week late.
Doctors are desperate, can’t pay bills, and some are being bailed out by charities. Who will want to work here if they don’t get paid in full and on time?
“Many of us know that taking paracetamol can be helpful for headaches and I don’t think anyone believes that headaches are caused by not enough paracetamol in the brain.”
I urge anyone who is reading about this to look at the very good expert comments that @SMC_London have put together, which explain why the entire framing of this review is so deeply problematic https://t.co/cbXSi1dkLY
Helpful paper. Probably similar in eating disorders. But nobody is talking about patients not wishing to recover, being addicted to their illness, or end of life treatment in schizophrenia. Why is this ok in eating disorders? @gaudianiclinic@JEatDisord@rcpsych@beatED@FEAST_ED
Hello #NeuroTwitter! My name is Kajal Patel. I am a final year med student from the University of Manchester @Medicine_UoM . Looking forward to connecting with everyone here and very excited to be applying to Adult Neurology for @NMatch2023 #Match2023#MedTwitter#Neurology
Until 5 years ago, when I was speaking to FY2s,
They will tell me in excitement which speciality they will be working in soon.
Now mostly, their response is,
"I am taking a break, will do locums for a while"
Not sure if health leaders are understanding impact of this.
Agree with every single points. Discharging a patient
from inpatient care when they reach 85% of their ideal
body weight (which is not uncommon) may not only put
them at risk of immediate relapse psychologically, but may
also put them at risk metabolically.
