The Milwaukee Brewers are the first team in the history of American sports to get swept 0-4 in the postseason and then sweep that same opponent 4-0 the following year.
A “revenge sweep” has only happened 4x prior - never in consecutive 7-game series, and never in the MLB at all.
FINAL: Brewers 6, Dodgers 4
The Milwaukee Brewers are going to the World Series after sweeping the two-time defending champion Dodgers. The Brewers came back from down 4-0 to advance to their first World Series since 1982 and exact revenge on the Dodgers’ NLCS sweep last year.
Throwback to last year when 12-1 JMU was ranked behind 4-loss Iowa who had ZERO ranked wins.
Anyone who thinks the 24-team will allow for more “access” of any kind, except the access of 7-5 SECs and 8-4 B1Gs, is sorely mistaken.
Regular season implications gone.
Losing doesn’t matter.
Endless transferring.
Minimal loyalty to schools.
Everything about money.
Conference regionality gone.
Rankings rigged for two conferences (primarily one).
Every year College Football gets worse and worse. Very sad.
THREE of the nine undefeated teams this season have coached at James Madison 🔥
➖ Billy Napier (6-0)
➖ Bob Chesney (5-0)
➖ Curt Cignetti (6-0)
Something special going on in Harrisonburg 💎
Breaking: #Eagles QB Jalen Hurts is out for Sunday due to a superficial blood clot.
Full statement from the #Eagles on QB Jalen Hurts:
“On Thursday, October 8th, Jalen visited the training room after practice requesting treatment for his calf. He informed the medical staff he had been cleated during the Rams game on October 4th. This was his first treatment session for the calf injury following the game, after having practiced in full both Wednesday and Thursday. On Friday, Jalen received treatment, practiced in full, and was added to the practice report.
“Out of an abundance of caution, an ultrasound was performed on Saturday following the team’s flight to London and walkthrough. The ultrasound revealed a superficial blood clot. Our medical staff and doctors in London reviewed the results and concluded that activity and mobility were important and that Jalen could safely play. Doctors recommended a follow-up ultrasound within 72 hours of the game and the return flight to Philadelphia.
“Jalen played without limitation in the game Sunday, received treatment on Monday and Tuesday, and practiced in full on Wednesday, as reflected in the practice report. Throughout our time in London and this week, we have remained in communication with the league office regarding the matter.
"On Wednesday night, a follow-up ultrasound revealed movement in the small blood clot. Jalen will be out for Sunday’s game vs. the Panthers as we determine the appropriate course of treatment. His health and safety are our highest priority.”
FINAL: Brewers 6, Dodgers 2
Milwaukee takes a 3-0 lead in the NLCS and can sweep the Dodgers tomorrow. Jake Bauers hit a go-ahead homer on the 11th pitch of an epic at-bat, Garrett Mitchell followed with another homer and Robert Gasser threw five scoreless for a monster win.
when i made the decision to commit suicide my mood improved immensely because it meant everything would be over soon. every bad thing that was happening didnt matter because i wouldnt have to deal with the pain much longer. depression and suicide arent a straight line down
The #Rams are moving on from K Harrison Mevis, per me and @MikeGarafolo, as coach Sean McVay authors a special teams shakeup.
They are signing Blake Grupe off the #Jets practice squad.
FINAL: Brewers 7, Dodgers 4
Milwaukee takes a 2-0 lead in the NLCS. The Brewers are everything we thought they were. It’s a menacing, delightful brand of baseball.
The Dodgers are in rough shape. They haven’t hit. Didn't win a Yamamoto start. Much to fix, little time to fix it.
Impressive sequence from the Brewers. Jake Bauers fouled off six straight pitches and worked a 12-pitch walk against Yoshinobu Yamamoto to load the bases. Then Christian Yelich popped a two-run single up the middle. Brewers lead, 3-2, and Yamamoto is done. It's the third inning.
