Back on Twitter to promote my new book. Predictable, eh? It's a poetry collection called life. love. other. Out on Kindle and in paperback. I've included two tasters below. More tomorrow. Been so much fun to put together. Hope you enjoy! Cover: @CaptNorth https://t.co/w4yQ738e8d
@SidmouthTownAFC@billyrouse7 Classy club, classy bloke. Thanks for playing such a memorable part of a festival-atmosphere final in front of that huge crowd. Sincere best wishes for 2026-27.
@Lee23624635@swpleague@MouseholeAFC@swsportsnews@Cornishfootball@CornwallSport I believe coach costs have gone from circa £500 per round trip to circa £1300 per round trip in 2-3 years. With full payment still due if game postponed last minute (happened twice to PRFC this season). With respect, it’s v different to 2015, let alone 1955.
@swpleague@MouseholeAFC@swsportsnews@Cornishfootball@CornwallSport You also feel for Falmouth. Step 4 wage bill (unless they effectively consign themselves to the drop with Step 5/6 players) and local 'derby' now Bideford, 2+ hours away. Going to be a Sisyphean grind just to survive. Where's the enjoyment for their fans and staff?
@swpleague@MouseholeAFC@swsportsnews@Cornishfootball@CornwallSport Well said. Travel costs in the Western League next season – Newquay, Liskeard, Blazey, Torpoint travelling to Portishead, Clevedon, Bradford Town (and vice versa) are going to be into the tens of thousands per club. Change desperately needed.
@KJMsport57@swsportsnews@PLsportsnews Real shame. Horrendous away trip from Paulton, but they'd done such a commendable job powering up the leagues. With travel costs and Helston's move you wonder if Falmouth, Torpoint, Liskeard etc all have a semi-permanent Step 4 ceiling.
@pitchscout_uk@PaultonRoversFC@StanWyatt6@brandonbak9 These boys, and Krystian Woods, added so much energy and ability and momentum to our promotion push. Vital in getting over the line. Excited to see Stan light it up in the Southern League, and would love @WSM_AFCOfficial to give us just one more year of Bakky and Woodsy… 🤞
@PaultonRoversFC Glorious. Thanks Jon, Paul and Alfie for all the highlights, match updates and reports this season. You guys deserve this result as much as anyone at the club.
@billyrouse7@PaultonRoversFC@TMSMLenihan Made us earn that. Quality club. Class act appauding the presentation when every one of your lads would have been hurting. Good luck for next season.
@fwtoads@BSF2020@AS_FootyReview Yes, exactly my point. Lymington were relegated regardless of league position because they didn't achieve a Step 4 grading by the March deadline, and Mousehole only just managed it. We're saying the same thing!
@BSF2020@AS_FootyReview Happened to Lymington in the same league in 2023, and Paulton almost got reprieved from relegation two years ago by Mousehole and Bemerton Heath struggling to upgrade before the March deadline. (Both did, just.) It is harsh, but sadly in line with precedent.
@Goal_Mass@_WesternLeague_ Ooh, this was a bonus. As I suspected, two soft yellows, but what a job from the boys to see it through. Thanks so much for the highlights package!
