What an incredible day for our young readers! We are still buzzing from the excitement of the Book Vending Machine Ribbon Cutting Ceremony at the Moroles Library!

A massive THANK YOU to Atmos Energy and the Dallas Education Foundation for their generous support in providing this amazing machine to our school. Because of your partnership, our students now have a fun, interactive way to grow their home libraries!

It was a joy to see so many families and students gather for the big reveal. Our students were recognized for their dedication as outstanding library patrons, library workers, and book club members. Students can continue to earn free books by reading and completing book reviews!

We are so proud of our students' hard work and can’t wait to see which books they choose next. Keep reading, Moroles!

What an incredible day of learning at the Moroles Library! 🏛️ We were so honored to have Ms. Katheryn from the Dallas Holocaust and Human Rights Museum visit our students.

Our 2nd graders were captivated by a Shadow Puppet Theater show 🎭, learning about the inspiring lives of Upstanders like Chester Nez, Juanita Craft, and Hector P. Garcia.

Meanwhile, our 5th graders dove into local history, discovering the story of Dallas Civil Rights Activist Clarence Broadnax. They did an amazing job creating newspaper spreads to share his powerful story! 📰✍️

A huge thank you to Ms. Katheryn and the Dallas Holocaust and Human Rights Museum for teaching our students what it means to be an Upstander and stand up for what is right. 💙

What an incredible day at the Moroles Library! 🎉 We were so honored to host bestselling author Karina Yan Glaser for a special visit to celebrate her new book, The Nine Moons of Han Yu and Luli.

A huge thank you to the Dallas ISD Library Media Services Department for gifting copies of the new book to our amazing Moroles book club members! ❤️

Our students enjoyed a wonderful talk about the writing process and how to gain inspiration to tell their own stories. Karina shared pages from her sketchbook and encouraged students to find their own creative spark. The joy for reading and book love was definitely in the air! ✨

The day was made even more special as Karina took the time to sign books and chat with our students. Thank you, Karina Yan Glaser, for an inspiring and unforgettable visit! 🖋️📖

🌍💚 Earth Month at Moroles Library was a blast! 📚

Ms. Juarez and Ms. Harker’s 5th grade classes explored science in action with a hands-on soil permeability lab, testing how water moves through different types of soil and discussing the importance of healthy earth systems. 🧪🌱 Thanks to materials from @DFWAirport #OurPowerOurPlanet 🌍🔬

Even our PreK4 littles joined the fun! 👧👦 Ms. Rico and Ms. Luna helped students plant seeds and care for them daily in the library courtyard. 🌸🌞

The library is more than a place for reading — it’s a space for exploration, discovery, and powerful learning experiences! 💡📖🌎

🎨💻 Ms. Cooper’s 4th and 5th Grade Art Vanguard students went full STEAM ahead this month as they combined technology and creativity in an exciting hands-on project!

First, students used Tinkercad, a 3D design platform, to build their names on a keychain. 🖱️
Once their designs were finalized, they sent their files to the library’s 3D printers, where they had the chance to observe the printing process throughout the week! 🖨️
After printing, students got hands-on with the finishing touches—they painted them in bold, vibrant colors, making each piece uniquely their own. 🎨🖌️

This project was an amazing blend of art, engineering, and design thinking—and our students absolutely crushed it! 💡

A huge THANK YOU to Ms. Cooper for the passion, creativity, and hard work she poured into guiding her students through this unforgettable STEAM journey. 👏

🌊📚 For #WomensHistoryMonth, the Moroles Library celebrated amazing women in STEAM by reading Shark Lady: The True Story of How Eugenie Clark Became the Ocean's Most Fearless Scientist! 🦈💡

Our students dove deep into the ocean 🐠🌊 using Merge Cubes and augmented reality to explore the wonders of the deep blue sea. We also journeyed through space 🚀, discovered dinosaurs 🦖, and even explored human anatomy! 🧠💥

The excitement was palpable as everyone created their own digital landscapes and snapped some fun pics along the way! 📸✨
