Two days from now, Dr. Hak Ja Han, the Mother of Peace, faces a critical bail hearing that may allow for a medical exemption from serving her sentence.
She’s been mistreated since DAY ONE!! It’s time they send her home!!

At an international CESNUR conference in Taiwan (October 12), a dedicated session addressed the ongoing situation of the Family Federation (Unification Church) in Japan following the dissolution order triggered by former Prime Minister Shinzo Abe's assassination...
President Lee, why is my mother in detention? She is 83, legally blind, seriously ill...accused with zero evidence by dubious critics. Korea had become a great nation but now is in serious danger of rapid decline under your autocratic leadership. @Jaemyung_Lee
Wake up Korea before it is too late. #ReleaseTheMotherOfPeace
"We cannot let the world be ignorant of the coming of True Parents and the blessings and grace of God. We must guide all people to attend Heaven. Those who live in the kingdom of heaven on earth can go to the kingdom of heaven in heaven. We have one goal and one path, the path by which we can become God’s proud sons and daughters. We need to lead lives such that God can embrace us and say, “Well done, my daughter! Well done, my son!” We need to realize in our hearts that this is the golden age."

Dr Hak Ja Han Moon, The Mother of Peace, such great wisdom and love:
"That 1992 global speaking tour was by no means a vacation; it covered 113 cities, 24 time zones, venue upon venue, check-in upon check-in, crowd upon crowd, schedule upon schedule, pressure upon pressure. I was speaking on the value and mission of women, the way to peace in the family and world, and the love of Heavenly Parent. This was to open the gates for the world’s people who are stranded as lonely orphans, to welcome them into the loving, liberating embrace of True Parents. Only when we receive God’s Blessing in marriage can we leave the orphanage and receive our inheritance as the sons and daughters of God who enjoy true happiness."

Mother of Peace, God's daughter bringing love, hope, and the blessings of Heaven to the world:
"My inaugural speaking tour for the Women’s Federation continued through Europe, Russia, Asia and Oceania. I will never forget what happened when I spoke in the Philippines. The day before the event, I flew from Los Angeles to Manila. On the plane, I took a short nap, during which I dreamed I was breastfeeding a baby. As I looked at the beautiful baby, I said to myself, “I’m not of an age to give birth anymore.” When I arrived in Manila, I discovered that it was a Catholic holy day, December 8, the Feast of the Immaculate Conception. A woman walking on the street in downtown Manila happened to see a poster advertising my speech. The poster had me in a yellow Korean dress. Suddenly, the thought, “This is the person who will fulfill Mother Mary’s mission,” came into her mind. Then and there, she decided to attend my event. She was deeply moved by my speech, during which she arose and loudly exclaimed, “The one who came to the Philippines on this holy day is truly our Mother Mary!” Cheers erupted throughout the convention center."

Nomination Recognizes Decades of Global Peacebuilding,
Interfaith Dialogue, and Korean Peninsula Initiatives
NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)—April 3, 2026-- Universal Peace Federation International (UPF International) today announced that Dr. Hak Ja Han, co-founder of the Universal Peace Federation, has been formally nominated for the 2026 Nobel Peace Prize by Dr. Ján Figeľ, former European Union Special Envoy for Freedom of Religion or Belief and president of FOREF Europe.
The nomination recognizes Dr. Han’s decades-long contributions to international peacebuilding, interfaith dialogue, humanitarian cooperation, and reconciliation efforts, particularly in relation to the Korean Peninsula.
In his submission, Dr. Figeľ highlighted several key initiatives:
Interfaith cooperation: Appointment of thousands of Peace Ambassadors worldwide to bridge religious and cultural divides
Korean Peninsula peace initiatives: Organization of international “Rally of Hope” summits promoting peaceful reunification
Humanitarian recognition: Establishment of the Sunhak Peace Prize honoring global peace advocates
United Nations engagement: Collaboration of UPF and the Women’s Federation for World Peace through General Consultative Status with the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC)
38th Parallel Peace Initiative: Proposal to create an international peace park in the Korean Demilitarized Zone
Cultural diplomacy: Global outreach through the Little Angels Children’s Folk Ballet of Korea
“Dr. Hak Ja Han has demonstrated a lifelong commitment to peacebuilding rooted in dialogue, cooperation, and respect for human dignity,” said Dr. Figeľ. “Her work has consistently brought together leaders and communities across ideological, religious, and political divides.”
“Dr. Hak Ja Han’s life work represents a remarkable and sustained investment in peace,” said Dr. Tageldin Hamad, President of UPF International. “Through institution-building, global dialogue, humanitarian engagement, and cultural diplomacy, she has helped create platforms where cooperation can flourish and where the ideals of peace are translated into practical action.”
Born in what is now North Korea and shaped by the experience of war and division, Dr. Han has dedicated her life to promoting reconciliation and strengthening families and communities as foundations for lasting peace. She co-founded the Women’s Federation for World Peace in 1992 and the Universal Peace Federation in 2005, both of which have grown into global networks supporting peace initiatives.
The nomination also comes amid reports regarding Dr. Han’s current detention, which has raised concern among observers in the international community. According to public reporting, the matter has drawn attention among policymakers and diplomatic observers.
Nobel Peace Prize nominations are confidential, and the Norwegian Nobel Committee receives hundreds of nominations each year. A nomination does not imply selection but reflects recognition of significant contributions to peace and international cooperation.

"When the Korean speaking tour was over, we planned a speaking schedule for me to launch the Women’s Federation in Japan. “Japanese women need to hear these words, too,” I told our logistics team. “True,” they replied, “But you speak Korean, and through the interpreter, the original meaning will not be fully conveyed.”
“I agree,” I said, with the follow-up: “Then I shall speak in Japanese.” When my husband heard about this, even he wanted to talk it over. “It would be much easier to use an interpreter. The speech is long, and you don’t know Japanese well. You have to leave soon. Are you confident that you can speak to them in Japanese?”

Born in 1943 in Japanese-occupied Korea, Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon survived communist persecution, family imprisonment, and the devastation of the Korean War as a young child refugee.
At age 17 she married Reverend Sun Myung Moon and went on to raise 14 children while building a worldwide movement dedicated to peace, interfaith dialogue, and women’s leadership.
Her initiatives — including the Women’s Federation for World Peace, the Universal Peace Federation, and the Sun Hak Peace Prize — have spanned continents and generations.
From speaking tours across 113 cities in 12 countries to summits with African heads of state and virtual events reaching hundreds of millions during the pandemic, she created enduring institutions that bring together parliamentarians, religious leaders, youth, and former presidents.
What began as a refugee child’s survival story became a lifetime commitment to reconciliation and unity, turning personal hardship into a global platform for dialogue and hope.
Her life connects North Korean survival, Korean War trauma, and international advocacy in a way few stories can.
In a divided world searching for models of resilience and bridge-building, her journey offers a powerful example of how one person’s conviction can shape movements that outlast a lifetime.
Do you believe personal faith and moral conviction can still drive meaningful global change today, or have such forces been largely replaced by secular institutions and diplomacy?
"7,000+ Rally Against Religious Corporation Dissolution Bill as Concerns Over 'Religious Freedom Violations' Spread"
7,000 Protestant clergy and believers gathered outside the National Assembly on April 1.
They came to demand withdrawal of a civil law amendment that would allow the government to dissolve religious organizations and seize their assets.
The bill was framed as targeting groups like the Unification Church and Shincheonji.
Mainstream Protestant leaders rejected that framing.
The rally's closing statement made the case directly:
"It is packaged as a Unification Church and Shincheonji prevention law. In practice, it could apply to all religious organizations."
The specific provisions drawing alarm:
・ Warrantless investigations and oversight of religious bodies
・ Mandatory government seizure of assets upon dissolution
・ Vague, undefined criteria for determining "political interference"
Pastor Kim Un-seong of Youngnak Church called it "a dangerous starting point that could eventually cover all of society."
Pastor Lee Tae-hee pointed to China: "China started with institutional management and developed into a structure that restricts even doctrine and sermons. This law could become the starting line for that kind of control."
Pastor Son Hyun-bo framed it as a constitutional violation: "The principle of separation of church and state means the state must not interfere in religion. This bill reverses that."
PPP lawmaker Cho Bae-suk attended the rally and stated the bill "poses a significant risk of infringing on religious freedom and property rights."
Organizers are calling on Catholic and Buddhist communities to join the opposition.
Protests will continue until the bill is withdrawn.
The bill targets religious groups the government dislikes.
Its critics say it will not stop there.

@DemianDunkley Korean Christians unite to defend democracy and God's given freedom of conscience. They are calling for other religious communities, including Catholicism and Buddhism, as well as civil society, to join in solidarity. This is great news!
Six months of pre-trial detention have taken a great toll on the Mother of Peace's health. Since last weekend, she has been experiencing severe chest tightness to the point where she could not sit or lie down and could not swallow food. For the third time she is being given some temporary medical attention - with no visit from her family.
When will the people of South Korea recognize the unfairness and cruelty of such treatment?

Rev and Dr Moon began the Family Federation (Unification Church) with no money, no substantial buildings, and few members. They are the greatest HEROS ever born in Korea.
Why are President Lee, PM Kim so scared of this frail, loving, great grandmother who tells her followers: "don't pray for me, pray for Korea and your families"?
"In 1958 our first missionary crossed the sea to Japan, and the next year, a few trusted members pioneered missions in the United States. Given the impoverished state of our Korean church, it was almost unthinkable to start foreign missions in Japan and the United States. But our purpose went beyond being solely a Korean group. To bolster these budding foreign missions, Father Moon undertook a 10-month world tour in 1965. The course included a period where he drove with a few followers to every state in the continental United States, to consecrate prayer sites that we call holy grounds in each. He met our missionaries and their young members in the United States, Europe and other countries, and met prominent public figures, including former US President Dwight Eisenhower."
