The Oxford Vaccine Group (University of Oxford) is leading this study to find out if immunising teenagers against Men B could reduce the spread of this bacteria
Vaccination is the best way to protect you & your family from meningitis and septicaemia ๐
But there is no such thing as "the" meningitis vaccine. There are many types of meningitis, and no single vaccine can protect against them all, so it's important to always know the signs.
Wave 5 visits are now happening across 7 of our sites with 3 more due to begin next week. Look out for reminders from your local site if you're due another study visit!

Across the UK, 24,000 16-18 year olds are currently taking part in a groundbreaking research study into defeating meningitis: https://t.co/O5dL1rTPKy
Currently, only babies can be given the MenB meningitis vaccine on the NHS but - as we know - meningitis strikes at any age.
Our very own Prof Snape was interviewed for @itvmeridian yesterday talking about our success in recruitment and the importance of the final visit! If you're enrolled in the study look out for updates from your local site about your follow-up visits.

@nhs_sct @BSUHresearch If you are currently involved in the study you will receive a reminder ahead of your next visit. We need as many people as possible to complete all visits in order to answer the research question.
